Romanian living in Belgium, hugging artists. From afar. With a camera. I am a Romanian photographer established in Belgium.

You’ll most likely find me at a concert, with a Sony Alpha camera attached to my hand, shooting in different sized venues or at festivals. I worked either for artists or radio stations at festivals like Rock Werchter in Belgium or Summer Well (together with Radio Guerrilla, Smart Radio and Aleph News) in Romania. I am also one of the in-house photographers at Het Depot in Leuven and Le Botanique

in Brussels. A few of the musicians mostly loved by my camera lately have been The Sore Losers, Kensington, Editors, Balthazar, De Staat, SYML, Asaf Avidan, Nothing But Thieves, Air Traffic, Kodaline, J. Bernardt, Avishai Cohen and Kovacs, but the list is getting bigger and bigger with every chance I get. My journey has brought me to cover almost 150 concerts per year lately.

Safaris are not only about big cats and photo opportunities. They’re about embracing nature, embracing everything that Mother Earth wants to present to you in that moment. They’re about learning that we share this place with many others and that we should never lose our curiosity and will to learn and discover. They’re about learning respect to each other’s boundaries. They’re about beauty, they’re about rawness, they’re about how we could live together in some kind of peace disturbed only by the need for survival. They’re about the lack of ego.

The first animals I saw in South Luangwa were lions, on the way from the airport to the camp. They were feasting on a buffalo. The little ones were quite eager to finish the beast!

Later edit: Lucy is alive and well. It was another leopard in her territory that was killed by a crocodile.

I’ve just come back from the beautiful South Luangwa and heard of Lucy’s passing. It’s harder when you know their names and have heard their stories. I saw four leopards on my trip and Lucy was one of them. Even if she kept her distance. I hope to go back one day and meet more of the inhabitants of the Valley of the Leopards. Lucy is in the first and last pictures.

The hunters of the Maasai Mara. I thought I'd better end the editing of the photos I took in Kenya before leaving for Zambia. I'm beyond excited to go in the land of leopards, South Luangwa.
