I embarked on a research project called Dataspectre, driven by the intriguing question: What do AI and neural networks actually look like? My exploration led me to Graphcore’s visualizations, which use plotters to map connections between nodes, resulting in unexpectedly organic shapes and forms. Inspired by this discovery, I experimented with adding my personal touch. I created Graphcore-like images, transferred them to Polaroids, and then onto paper, symbolizing the human input on data. This process not only aligns with my artistic vision but also reinforces my belief in the future of art and post-photography, where traditional forms blend with innovative technologies. To further this exploration, I compared these images with microscope photography, as they too share organic forms and structures. Both methods uncover data beyond our normal visual field, offering unique insights into the hidden complexities of data, thus guiding me deeper into the intersection of art, technology, and perception.

MEMENTO MORI- This assignment , much like its predecessors, unfolded through an intensive exploration of trial and error, drawing me closer to the vanitas motif—a theme that gained clarity amidst personal grief. The loss of my mother and brother to mental health struggles initiated this journey. Their battles deeply influenced my artistic exploration, leading me initially to create still lifes that navigate the complexities of their conditions. As the work progressed, an additional layer emerged with the inclusion of a piece representing my father, who, though still with us, embodies the universal truth of the vanity of time.

These compositions are not critiques of my loved ones but rather an acknowledgment of the challenges that have shadowed their paths, and in my father’s case, the inherent flaws that define us all. Through the lens of vanitas, this series reflects on the fragility of life and the shadows cast by mental health, weaving a narrative that is deeply personal yet universally resonant.
