Satyajit Ray’s portrayal of women was revolutionary in his artworks , moving beyond stereotypes to present complex, resilient, and emotionally nuanced characters. His films often explored the inner worlds of women navigating patriarchy, tradition, and emerging modernity, centering on their psychological struggles and evolving agency. In Ray's movie - ' Charulata', ' Devi' we can see the flourish of hidden desires and unseen dreams of the ladies.

Ray believed, a woman can portray thousands of images at a single screentime. She can wear her pain like diamonds, she is bold, fierce, full of spirit and at the same time she is a goddess who can give shadow like banyan tree.

Ray's 105 th birthday was on 2nd May, 2026. This photoshoot is our humble tribute to Satyajit Ray and we salute his creativity, his footsteps. May the king continue to inspire generations after generations.

A CAPTIVE LADY :

Don't underestimate a lady who went through a lot. She is not an ordinary one, she is a fighter, she is a multitasker. She knows how to survive in the middle of a storm, she also knows how to dance alone in the calm meadowland. She gets hurt, then she stands up and becomes much more stronger.
