Drawn to the Burn

After a fire swept through the southern part of the park, vast flocks of Abdim’s and White Storks moved into the area, drawn to the newly altered landscape.

The raging flames and drifting smoke created an atmosphere both dramatic and surreal, offering uniquely compelling photographic moments.

As the sun slipped behind the mountains, we lingered near Lengau Dam with a flock of Abdim’s Storks — a quiet pause after the chaos — where this special image was captured.
