ফটোগ্রাফির ইতিহাস খুঁজতে গেলে পৌঁছে যেতে হবে ১৮৩০ সালে। লুই ডাগে ফটোগ্রাফিক প্রসেস (Photographic process) আবিষ্কার করেন। যার নাম ছিল 'ডাগেরোটাইপ'। দ্য ফ্রেঞ্চ অ্যাকাডেমি অব সায়েন্সেস (The French academy of sciences) ১৮৩৯ সালের ৯ জানুয়ারি সেই আবিষ্কারের কথা
ঘোষণা করায় ফরাসি সরকার (French Government) ওই বছরেরই ১৯ অগাস্ট দিনটিকে 'বিশ্ব ফটোগ্রাফি দিবস' (World Photography Day) হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেন 🥀💫
