Spider-Noir (2026)
Just finished watching Spider-Noir. What a great series! To get the ultimate noir experience, you have to watch the Black & White version. It perfectly captures that authentic 1930s/40s New York City vibe.
Every single scene, the characters' costumes, makeup—everything felt perfect. I have no idea about how the American accent sounded 100 years ago, so I can't judge that part. But visually, it was flawless.
Nicolas Cage was just brilliant. His energetic performance was so enjoyable to watch
Brendan Gleeson's Silvermane gave the major Kingpin vibe—that heavy, brutal mob boss energy.
While Flint Marko's Sandman was good, Dirk Leyden's Megawatt completely stole the show. His performance was top-notch and definitely deserves a special mention.
Standard superhero rule: a beautiful girl has to enter the scene and mess things up for the hero. No exception here either.
Li Jun Li did a great job playing Cat Hardy. When I first heard the name Cat Hardy, I had a feeling she must be an alternate-universe version of Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), and I was totally correct!
This series does not have so many crazy action sequences like the MCU, so this might make people feel it's a bit slow. Also, in a few scenes, the CGI felt a bit weak and noticeable.
But overall? As a detective mystery-drama genre mixed with Spider-Man, it worked beautifully.
My rating: 8.7 out of 10.
