BUFT CINEFRAME FEST 2026 – Event Overview
Giants Group and Education Hub proudly presented BUFT CINEFRAME FEST 2026, proudly organized by the BUFT Photography Club, with the BUFT Literature and Review Club as the Event Partner. The three-day festival successfully celebrated photography, filmmaking, entrepreneurship, and creativity by bringing together students, artists, filmmakers, industry professionals, and distinguished guests on a single platform.
The festival featured three acclaimed Bangladeshi films—Bonolota Express, Utshob, and The University of Chankharpul. Throughout the first and second days, the films were screened in multiple sessions, attracting a large audience of students, faculty members, alumni, and film enthusiasts. The screenings provided an opportunity to experience quality Bangladeshi cinema while promoting discussions on storytelling, filmmaking, and creative expression.
The Opening Ceremony was inaugurated by Faruque Hassan, Chairman (Board of Trustees), BUFT, alongside Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Acting) & Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Md. Waliul Alam, Director of Student Welfare (DSW), Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of Public Relations (PR), Md. Nurullah, General Secretary of the Bangladesh Film Federation Societies, and the team of The University of Chankharpul. Their inspiring presence reflected BUFT's commitment to promoting arts, culture, and student creativity.
A major attraction of the festival was the Photography Competition and Exhibition. Throughout the three-day event, 50 selected photographs were displayed, showcasing the creativity and talent of photographers from different universities. Visitors explored a wide range of artistic perspectives, making the exhibition one of the festival's most engaging attractions.
The Short Film Competition provided a platform for emerging filmmakers to present their creative work. On the closing day, five selected short films were showcased before the prize-giving ceremony, allowing audiences and guests to experience some of the finest entries chosen by the festival jury.
The festival also featured an Entrepreneur Stall Segment, where student entrepreneurs showcased their businesses, products, and innovative ideas throughout the three-day event. The stalls created opportunities for networking, brand promotion, and business development while encouraging entrepreneurship among students. In recognition of their participation and contribution, all participating entrepreneurs were awarded Certificates of Participation during the closing ceremony.
The Closing Ceremony was graced by renowned Bangladeshi actors Mir Sabbir, Sadia Islam Mou, and Runa Khan as special guests. The ceremony was also honored by the presence of Mr. Mohammed Nasir, Founder Member of BUFT, Faruque Hassan, Chairman (Board of Trustees), Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Vice Chancellor (Designate), Prof. Dr. Md. Alamgir Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Acting) & Treasurer, Prof. Dr. Md. Waliul Alam, Director of Student Welfare (DSW), Mohammad Imtiaj, Director of Public Relations (PR), and sponsor representatives including Sharmeen Hassan Tithi, Director of Giants Group, representatives from Education Hub, Dhaka IELTS Center, Okayhut, and 09 Fragrance.
The festival concluded with a grand prize-giving ceremony where the winners of the Photography Competition and Short Film Competition received prize money, trophies, and certificates. Participating entrepreneurs were also presented with Certificates of Participation, while distinguished guests, sponsors, partners, judges, and contributors received commemorative crests in appreciation of their valuable support and contribution to the success of BUFT CINEFRAME FEST 2026.
BUFT CINEFRAME FEST 2026 successfully united cinema, photography, entrepreneurship, and culture under one roof. With inspiring film screenings, a three-day photography exhibition featuring 50 selected photographs, the showcase of five outstanding short films, creative competitions, entrepreneur stalls, and the participation of respected personalities from academia and the Bangladeshi film industry, the festival became one of the most remarkable creative events organized by the BUFT Photography Club. The overwhelming participation of students, guests, sponsors, and visitors reflected the growing impact of the festival and reaffirmed the club's commitment to promoting creativity, artistic excellence, and cultural development for future generations.
