OTML farewells Musje Werror with a guard of honour

THE outgoing Managing Director and former Chief Executive Officer of Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) Musje Werror was given a guard of honour farewell as he walks out of the mining yard in Tabubil.
Mr. Werror ended his 34 years of service with the mine on December 1, 2022 and was officially farewell yesterday, Monday December 5, 2022.
He was sent off with a guard of honour starting at the terminal all the way to an awaiting OTML Charter One plane for the last time at Tabubil Airport.
The farewell was an emotional one witnessed by OTML employees, business partners and Tabubil residents.
Mr. Werror embraced and said goodbye to everyone and encourage them to support OTML’s vision to be the leading mining company in PNG.
“This is the opportunity for Papua New Guineans to show what we can do. I believe that we can and we will become the leading PNG mining company,” Mr. Werror said.
Before the farewell event, a dinner was held last weekend where OTML management, employees, business partners and community leaders paid tribute to Mr. Werror’s service and contribution to OTML.
At the dining hall, OTML Board Chairman, Dr. Roger Higgins said in a letter that Mr. Werror deserved all the congratulations and accolades for his many achievements and that he still had more to offer beyond OTML.
“You have much more to give to PNG and the mining industry internationally. I have no doubt you will have opportunities to do this in the coming years,” said Dr. Higgins.
Moreover, OTML Acting CEO, Mark Thompson also said “you (Werror) leave with the knowledge that you have made an extraordinary contribution to OTML and to the people of the Western Province and PNG.
It has been a privilege to work with and for you, and be assured that we will all continue to work together in the spirit of ‘One Team, Wan Pasin’ to realise the journey you have commenced,” the Acting CEO said.
