This morning, during my usual outing for exercise, I had the pleasure of passing by the iconic Dhanmondi Eidgah — a historical landmark that never fails to capture attention. Nestled in the heart of Dhanmondi, Dhaka, this architectural gem stands as a quiet reminder of the city’s rich cultural and religious heritage.

As I paused briefly to admire its majestic structure, I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the Eidgah's regal aura. Its large open prayer space, framed by aged yet elegant walls and arches, speaks of centuries-old traditions that still live on in the urban fabric of Dhaka. The design is simple yet commanding, with a grandeur that reflects both spiritual purpose and historical depth.

What struck me most was how seamlessly the Eidgah blends history with the everyday life of the city. আজ সকালে মর্নিং ওয়ার্কে বেড়িয়ে এই সাব্জেক্ট পাবো আশায় ছিল না। এটা যেন মীরাক্কেল। ছবিটির সাথে গানের কথা গুলো কেমন ম্যাচ হলো। ছবিটি বেশকিছু কোণ থেকে তুলেছি। এটা আমার ভাল্লাগছে।

যখন আমার ক্লান্ত চরণ,
অবিরাম বুকে রক্তক্ষরণ,
খুঁজে নিয়ে মন নির্জন কোন,
কি আর করে তখন?

এই ছবিগুলোর ক্রেডিট শুধু আমার একার নয় সেইসাথে আমার সহযাত্রী পার্থের ও। আরো একজন এই ছবিগুলোর পেছনে সাপোর্ট করেছেন। যেখানে দাঁড়িয়ে ছবি গুলো তুলেছি তার পেছনে রয়েছে ছোট একটা ঘর যেখানে থাকেন এক নারী। তার স্বামী মারা গিয়েছেন, তিনি তার সন্তানদের নিয়ে সেখানে দিনযাপন করেন। তিনি আমাদের কি যে আপ্যায়ন করলেন তার একটু ব্যাখ্যা দেই। আমি বা আমরা কেউ তাকে আগে থেকে চিনিনা, তিনিও আমাদের কখনো দেখেন নাই। আমরা ছবি তোলার ফাঁকে তার সাথে পরিচিতি পর্ব শেষ করতেই তিনি বললেন আপনারা এত দূর থেকে এসেছেন আপনাদের জন্যে দুটো ভাত রান্না করি? আমরা গরীব মানুষ ঘরে পাঙাশ মাছ আছে দুটো ভাত খাবেন। আমরা তার আতিথেয়তায় মুগ্ধ হলাম তবে তাকে কষ্ট দিলাম না ভাত রান্না কিংবা তরকারি রান্না করে আমাদের খাওয়ানোর জন্যে। তিনি এরপর বললেন তাহলে দুইটা মুড়ি মেখে দেই খান, আমি খুব খুশি হবো। অগত্যা তার মনে কষ্ট না দিতে অনুরোধে মুড়ি মাখার অফার ফেরত দিলাম না। মুড়িমাখা তিনি নিয়ে এলেন এবং সাথে পানি। আমার মনে পড়লো সিনেমায় দেখা নারীদের ক্ষেতে খাবার নিয়ে আসার দৃশ্য সে কি মনোরম আর সুন্দর। জীবন যেখানে যেমন তেমনি আমাদের মিলিয়ে যেতে হয়। আমার ইচ্ছে হচ্ছিল সেখানে একদিন একটি রাত খোলা আকাশের নীচে তারা দেখে দেখে কাটাই। যেভাবে কোন এক রাতে বান্দরবান এর গহীনে মঙ্গল পাড়ার টং ঘরে বসে বসে এক অন্তরীক্ষ দেখেছিলাম। প্রতি যাত্রায় আমি এতো শিখি সত্যি বলতে এসব প্রকাশের সময় হয়ে ওঠেনা। এই নারীর থেকে আমি শিখেছি আতিথেয়তা সরলতা এবং শ্রদ্ধা। এই গ্রামীণ জনপদের রাস্তায় আমি আরো জীবন হাঁটতে চাই তুলতে চাই জীবনের ছবিগুলো। কোন প্রশংসা নয় নিজের খেয়াল খুশিতে আমি ছবি তুলি। কিছু ছবি সোস্যাল মিডিয়াতে দেই।
জীবন এতোটা সুন্দর ও ভয়ংকর কিন্তু শেষ সময় অব্দি উপভোগ্যময় করে তুলতে পারাই একটি আর্ট। এই শিল্প রপ্ত করা সহজ নয়। প্রতিটি মানুষ এক একটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। আমাকে পছন্দ করতে হয় আমি তাদের কাছে কি শিখবো।কোন একদিন হয়তো তোমার বাড়ির আঙিনায় ও এইভাবে এসে হাজির হবো।
