It has been more than eight long years since the Myanmar Military Junta unleashed a brutal massacre upon the innocent civilians of Tulatuli village in northern Maungdaw. Yet, the haunting memories of that dark day remain deeply etched in the hearts and minds of the survivors. The people of Tulatuli continue to live under the shadow of trauma and grief, their wounds far from healed.

Since 2017, I have met with many survivors across different refugee camps men, women, and children each carrying an unbearable weight of sorrow. Their eyes still reflect the horror of that August tragedy, when they lost everything: their families, their homes, their dignity, their world.

No amount of paper or ink could ever capture the depth of their pain or the cries that still echo in silence. Tulatuli stands as a living testimony to the cruelty of genocide and the enduring resilience of a people forgotten by justice.
