Excited to announce our new book, Riverside Modern, which will be released by Thames & Hudson on September 1st.
Riverside Modern journeys into one of Melbourne’s most remarkable architectural enclaves. Framed on three sides by the winding Yarra River, the quiet streets of Studley Park in Kew hold Australia’s finest concentration of modernist houses, a rare snapshot of mid-century Australian design.
Starting out as a walking tour of the neighbourhood, we’ve been working on this publication for the past three years. It has been a passion project and labour of love.
In the decade following World War II, a cluster of visionary architects built a series of experimental family homes here, many working side by side as the neighbourhood took shape. Among them were figures who would come to define Melbourne modernism, including Robin Boyd, Anatol Kagan, McGlashan Everist, Neil Clerehan, and Peter and Dione McIntyre.
Pre-order now via the link in bio, or find it at all good local bookstores.
