X-RAY. The Power of Roentgen Vision

X-RAY is the first exhibition ever to comprehensively dedicate itself to the phenomenon of X-rays and the numerous cultural and artistic aspects of the X-ray vision. Based on the wide spectrum of X-ray technology – from the very first X-ray image to historic X-ray devices in medicine and the natural sciences, and up to the latest X-ray satellite in space research – the exhibition particularly highlights the creative interplay of the X-ray gaze in art and cultural history, politics, nature, literature and architecture, music, fashion, and cinema.

Photos and video work from my project “Anamnesis” were featured in this exhibition.

A photography group exhibition on occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Chornobyl Disaster. On 26 April 1986, the Chornobyl disaster shook the world. A radioactive cloud was released from reactor No. 4 into the atmosphere and spread across all of Europe. An exclusion zone was declared, an area within a radius of 30 km surrounding the nuclear power plant. In the meantime nature has quietly and persistently reclaimed the deserted area. Some artists are observing this development more closely.

Film negatives from the “Chornobyl Archive” were featured in this exhibition.

Featured artists: Volker Kreidler, Anna Jermolaewa, Maxim Dondyuk, Pierpaolo Mittica, Victoria Ivleva, Marcel Rickli, Andreas Thaler.
