It was amazing to capture Bleak Squad last week featuring Adalita (Magic Dirt), Mick Harvey (The Birthday Party, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds), Mick Turner (Dirty Three and Mess Esque), and Marty Brown (Art of Fighting). Formed in 2025, the band brings together decades of experience from some of Australia’s most influential alternative and art-rock acts.

Their ability to seamlessly move between instruments and creative disciplines gives Bleak Squad a rich, textured sound that reflects the combined experience of four musicians who have helped shape Australian independent music for more than four decades. Really looking forward to hearing their next album after a small taste of new material on this tour.
