Feathers

They fall like secrets from the sky,
too light to make a sound,
a softness lost, a moment free,
before they meet the ground.

I keep the ones the wind lets go,
not all are meant to stay,
some truths arrive to brush the skin
then drift their own soft way.

Childers, Heart of the Wide Bay

Nestled where the cane fields grow,
Where golden breezes gently flow,
Childers stands, both proud and true,
A town where old meets something new.

Heritage halls in weathered grace,
Hold echoes time cannot erase.
Verandas wide and doors of wood,
Stand just as they forever stood.

The sugar cane sways tall and free,
A sea of green to meet the breeze.
While cattle graze on rolling land,
Beneath the sky so vast, so grand.

A town of charm, both quaint and strong,
Where history hums its timeless song.
In Childers, past and present blend,
A place that welcomes like a friend.

A visit to Tasmania’s West Coast wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Marrawah…
Known for its big wave surfing, in extreme weather, and a great feed at the Marrawah Tavern, this western most Tasmanian town is stunning….
And all that fresh air, certainly helps your appetite! Just saying 🤪
