A few days earlier I was in Fiji, barefoot and shooting in the tropics. Then a last-minute decision had me out here alone on a crispy one degree morning in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt hunting for salt lakes.

Hidden between endless fields of wheat are these incredible pockets of salt pans. After rain, they shift through different colours depending on the microbes present.

Sometimes I have to laugh at the contrast. From tropical islands to freezing mornings in the middle of nowhere, chasing wild landscapes with a camera.
