The latest Project300 build update is now up, covering the design and spec of a self-contained fridge and power module.

Including a tilting fridge slide, Custom Lithium 100Ah battery, plus a 1200w inverter, bluetooth battery monitor and DC-DC charger all from REDARC. Powered from a customised version of Richards Auto Electrical's 300-series power outlet kit.

It's all mounted to a folding false floor that bolts into the back of the 300 using the cargo hook mounts and can be removed in under 10 minutes, restoring the full cargo area and 3rd row seats.

The LandCruiser 200, 300 and new 250 Prado are susceptible to theft via CAN Injection Attack.

It takes just a few minutes to access the CANbus network, send some false signals, the car unlocks, starts and off they go. No proximity to a key fob is required. Factory GPS is disabled. And you'll probably never see it again.

This link includes HighDef CCTV footage of a 300 being stolen a couple of weeks ago.

Manufacturers were first warned of this vulnerability back in 2010. Toyotas (and others) have been stolen this way since at least 2022. And still the problem hasn't been fixed.

LandCruiser thefts in Victoria (in particular) have doubled in the last year.

Do you wish your LandCruiser 300 had 12-volt power outlets in the cargo area, to run a fridge, compressor, battery charger etc? Then this simple installation is for you!

This plug-and-play kit from Richards Auto Electrical provides 30A Anderson and 20A cigarette lighter outlets to the left side of the cargo area. Paired with a low-voltage disconnect to prevent the start battery from going flat.

The kit taps into the factory fusebox in VX and above models, but they also have a similar setup for GX/GXL which lack the factory fusebox.

If you travel remotely in your 300, then you've already discovered the limits of the standard 110-litre fuel tank.

Problem solved for Project300 now, thanks to LongRanger's dual tank system for the 300-series.

I've now got more than double the touring range with 232 litres of diesel, I can skip the most expensive fuel locations, and I've got 60L of onboard drinking water which isn't taking up space in the back of the car.
