I shared on my stories recently that I’ve made the decision not to share children’s full faces on my photography page anymore.
I feel good about that decision.
Now, before you panic — this does not mean that as a client, you’re going to receive your gallery and it’s going to be a collection of photos of the backs of your children’s heads 😂 Of course not!
Your gallery will still be full of beautiful, honest, connected images of your family. I’m not changing the way I photograph your children.
What I am changing is what I choose to share publicly.
Things seem to be changing so rapidly online — or at least, it feels that way to me. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’m comfortable putting out there when it comes to children, and I’ve decided that I don’t want to share their full faces publicly anymore.
My clients will always get to choose whether they are happy for their images to be shared in the first place. That won’t change.
But even if you say yes, I still won’t share your child’s fullface.
Instead, when I’m sharing a session here, I’ll put a little more thought into how I can share your story, showcase your family and share my style of photography — without showing your children’s faces.
Because there are so many beautiful ways to tell a story.
The tiny hands, the wild hair, the muddy feet, the cuddles, the connection...
The little details that make your family your family.
You’ll still see your families here.
Just with a little more privacy for the smallest people in them. 🤍
