This book was another one I was keen to read and delighted to stock it at My Notes From Gallery, Studio, & Store.

Randa Abdel-Fattah has been investigated many times (never found guilty of anything), had her research grant with Macquarie University suspended (reinstated after a 10-month exhaustive inquiry), been dropped from prominent Writers Festivals (Bendigo Writers Festival had to then cancel many events and Adelaide Writers Festival was cancelled in full due to boycotts) all to please certain lobby and special interest groups.

My Mini Portrait Studio Sessions are all about providing a High Street Portrait experience for everybody.

We all deserve to put ourselves in the frame.

For Mini Portrait Studio Sessions allow approximately 15 minutes: $150.00 per person. One set up. Studio Only.

These are designed for individual portraits, or groups of a maximum of three people. Please note that for groups of two or three people, Mini Portrait Studio Sessions are $150 per person and you will need to book a double session for two people, or a triple session for three people to allow time for individual portraits, duo portraits and/or trio portraits.

Please get in touch for arrangements for group bookings, group bookings without individual portraits etc. Happy to look at all options!

Your images are delivered as digital files (both colour and black and white) and delivered via an online gallery within 24 hours.

It's hard to believe it is time to farewell another month.
One more month of starting the day with something beautiful.

Whenever I hear pithy little words and phrases like “peace”, “social cohesion”, or “ending the war” I cringe and feel like punching somebody. I mean seriously, how accepting, complacent or stupid are we?

There is no ceasefire in Gaza, there never has been. As the President of the grand old US of A said of ceasefires, ”in that part of the world, ceasefire is when you’re shooting in a more moderate manner.” You can always count on Trump to come out and say the quiet bits out loud. There is no ceasefire, there is no peace.

The borders continue to be closed. The reduction of aid continues and families in Gaza are starving to death. The messages coming out of Gaza are desperate, heartbreaking and unfathomable. The fact that we are living in a world where people are taking to social media to plead for a few dollars so they can get food for their children, formula for the infants and blankets for their families is something I will never come to terms with.

As for social cohesion. If social cohesion only applies to the needs of some then it is not really cohesion is it? Just ask Australia’s Anti-Semitic Envoy. She knows all about social cohesion, but only for some.

As for ending the war, war is a huge money making machine for the rich and powerful, so it is not like anybody has any real interest in ending it is there? In Australia as we continue to throw cash at AUKUS and our Prime Minister continues to take selfies with the President of the grand old US of A (always relevant is the PM of Australia, just keep signing those cheques buddy and you can get as many selfies as you want, but stay at the back of the room). The permanent American military presence on Australian soil is now at a scale unprecedented since the Second World War which should signal what is on the horizon.

If anything does happen with China which recent “communism is the great evil” rhetoric would suggest, Australia, Pine Gap and our cities will be the first targets. (The grand old US of A empire just need to deal with that pesky little Iran and the longest 6-day war in the history of the world and the “Islam is the great evil” threat first.) Look how well being a US ally with military bases turned out for the Gulf Countries.

The powers that be don’t want peace. They don’t want social cohesion. They don’t want to end the war. There is no money or control in that and we are all absolute chumps for believing them, for not unifying and fighting for this world. But they want us to be chumps. We are doing exactly as they wish.

It’s not about peace,
it’s about obedience.
It’s not about social cohesion,
it’s about silence.
It’s not about ending the war,
it’s about a war that never ends.

I had two lovely ladies come into the store yesterday (one of them told me she was 70) who had been volunteering at a sheep station somewhere north and inland of here. They were Jill of all trades and did a little bit of everything and were keen to return when they were shearing. They were amazing to talk to!!!

Talking to them reminded me of capturing this special anniversary shear for Bolivia Station. I loved everything about it, the smell, the light, and the frenetic bustle of it all.

Such a great day!

New satchels and tote bags from Stella Nova Handmade.

Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation made from upcycled materials which Claire sources from op-shops, garage sales and secondhand stores. Claire then makes each item by hand and they are gorgeous!

I have not managed to get these photographed individually as yet so I can also put these online but it is on my list of things to do. It is such a beautiful range!

Today I received an absolutely beautiful delivery from the very talented Claire from Stella Nova Handmade. I love having a small range of her creations in the store.

Everything that Claire makes is a one-of-a-kind creation made from upcycled materials. Claire sources her materials from op-shops, garage sales and secondhand stores. She then puts different fabrics together to create something very special.

As I unpack each item I am attempting to photograph it and get it online so it is a bit of a slow process. But first up are some lovely additions to the Stella Nova Handmade Bookmark range.

$15 each, measuring approximately 7cm x 20.5cm and each bookmark is a one-of-a-kind creation.
