This feels like the most honest version of me.

Spoken in my own words how I found my way to photography, and why I choose to approach each session the way I do.

There was a time I felt so much pressure to pose, to direct, to create something that looked “perfect.” And as someone who is naturally more quiet, it never quite felt like me.

It wasn’t until I stepped back…
and allowed moments to unfold in front of me, that everything changed.

I realised this wasn’t a weakness...
it was my ‘superpower’.

Because in that space, you get to breathe. To be yourselves. To feel, rather than perform.

For the ones who think they’re awkward, or not photogenic — I see you.

You don’t need to be anything other than who you already are.

My role is simply to hold space, to quietly observe, and to capture the connection that already exists.

Because these in-between moments…
they are everything 🤍

Thank you so much to the amazing Paige from .photosandfilms who I met a few years ago at a photographers and film retreat. Thank you for representing me in the most authentic way and mostly for making the filming and interview process flowing so effortless. ❤️

I pour so much into the planning of every session… and it’s never just about logistics.
From the moment you book, I begin getting to know you.

Your story, your rhythm, your little quirks as a family.

The questionnaire I send isn’t just a form — it’s an invitation.

To pause. To reflect. To think about what makes your family yours. Because as mums, we move through the days so quickly… we rarely stop to take it all in.

A week before your session, we connect again. We chat through everything — your worries, your outfits, your little one’s personality, what might feel overwhelming… and what feels like home to you.

By the time I arrive, I’m not walking into strangers. I’m stepping into a space that already feels familiar.

And that’s what allows you to relax.
To let go.
To simply be together.

Because the most meaningful images don’t come from posing… they come from connection 🤍

From bump to baby girl — I get to tell the whole story. 🤍 I first captured this little family during a golden sunrise session, when their daughter was still a tiny secret growing beneath mama’s heart. Then I was welcomed into their home when she was just a few weeks new to the world — still so fresh, so small. And back again at 5 months old.

And through it all, Freyja the German Shepherd never left their side. 🐾

Being invited back into a family’s story is one of the greatest honours of this work. To watch a family grow, to hold those memories for them — it never gets old.

This year I get to photograph again so many returning families, and I just want to say: thank you. Thank you for trusting me with your people, your moments, your dogs who photobomb every third shot. 🥹

When we ditch the checklist and just... let kids be kids, the magic happens all on its own. This little guy had zero interest in sitting still — and honestly? That gave us everything. Magnetic tiles, bike rides, shoulder rides with dad, mid-air jumps on the lounge, and a whole lot of giggles in between. And quietly in the background, mum and dad soaking it all in with their brand new baby boy. This is what home sessions are made for — the full, beautiful, wonderfully messy picture of your family right now. 🤍

Your kids don’t need to “cooperate” for beautiful photos to happen. In fact, I don’t want them to sit still or smile on cue. I want them to feel — to laugh, run wild, hold hands, cuddle, splash, and simply be themselves. 🧡

When a new baby arrives, the whole family shifts in the most beautiful way.

And sometimes that includes a loyal little shadow who has been there long before the tiny newcomer.

This pup stayed close the entire session.
Curious, gentle, and always watching over her baby brother.

I always love when families include their pets during a newborn session. They are part of the story, part of the memories, and part of the love that fills a home in those early days.

One of the most common things I hear is that grandparents feel a little hesitant about family sessions.

Maybe they’re picturing stiff poses… forced smiles… being told exactly where to stand.

But this session?
It was the complete opposite.

It was laughter echoing through the air,
little hands reaching for theirs,
and two grandmas quietly holding hands — soaking in a moment they don’t get to share often enough.

And just when we thought the day would stay softly overcast… the sun made a quiet appearance right before it dipped away — wrapping everything in the dreamiest pink and purple glow.

No expectations.
No pressure.
Just space to be together.

And that’s where the magic lives.
