Peaceful escape at 🌿

Just a few quiet photos from my visit last week – green fields, soft light, and a handful of gentle cows wandering through the frame.

No noise. No rush. Just the earth, the breeze, and a stillness that stays with you long after you leave.

If you've ever needed a place to breathe – this is it. 🕊️

Thank you, , for the warm and friendly atmosphere, for the new connections, and for the chance to embrace myself.

Fairfax Walk and Burragula Lookout – North Head, Manly

The Fairfax Walk on North Head is a family-friendly trail that rewards walkers with two stunning lookouts and sweeping views of Sydney Harbour, the city skyline, South Head, and the open ocean.

The standout is Burragula Lookout – one of Sydney's most spectacular vantage points. During the two annual whale migrations, it also becomes a prime spot for watching humpbacks and southern right whales pass by.

Just a little throwback to golden afternoons at Shields Orchard in Bilpin 🍂🧺
Apple picking season may already be finished for this year, but the memories of wandering through those quiet rows of trees, reaching up for that perfect ruby-red apple, and taking the first crisp bite right there in the sunshine…

There's something special about harvesting your own fruit — the weight of the basket, the smell of ripe apples in the autumn air, and the simple joy of being outdoors with good company.

Already dreaming of next season. 🍎✨
If you missed it this year, put on your calendar for the next one — trust me, it's worth the drive to Bilpin.

Hornsby Shire Council has officially opened the first stage of Hornsby Park, transforming a former quarry site into an emerging bushland destination for the community. The newly completed Crusher Plant Precinct is now open to the public, offering a first look at the park’s long-term vision. As the larger Hornsby Park project continues to roll out in stages, this initial opening marks a key milestone in creating a natural retreat for residents and visitors alike.

Bobbin Head National Park rainforest walk.
This pleasant walk starts from the southern end of Bobbin Head, and enjoys a blend of mangrove and rainforest environs. The well-signposted track gives you the opportunity to see the mangrove wildlife up close and also an historic Aboriginal axe grinding stone and some temperate rainforest.

The southern gateway to the Barrington Coast is a spectacular blend of lakes, coastal forests and pristine beaches offering a truly natural experience.
A place with a relaxed coastal lifestyle and a sense of peace and tranquility.

This stunning coastal region stretches from the twin towns of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest through the Myall Lakes National Park to Seal Rocks. This piece of the Barrington Coast is truly unique, home to vast tracts of wilderness.

Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest lie at the mouth of the Myall River and reflect a relaxed coastal lifestyle with a sense of peace and tranquility. The towns and surrounds offer a special mix of accommodation and activities.

With coastal themed cafes, galleries and public art this is just the place to get off the highway, unwind and have that very special holiday. From here you can journey into the Myall Lakes National Park which is a spectacular blend of lakes, coastal forests, pristine beaches and a huge sand dune system.

Nearby is Broughton Island, a park protected by NSW National Parks. It's home to white sandy beaches, volcanic outcrops and wind-swept vegetation. It has some of the best diving and snorkelling sites in NSW and a vast array of wildlife including penguins, turtles and seabirds.

Award-winning Hawks Nest Beach (also known as Bennetts Beach) is the most popular and easily accessed beach in the Myall River precinct of the Barrington Coast. The southern end of the beach is known as The Dolphins Playground and has surf suitable for both board riders and body surfers.

The Hawks Nest Surf Club lies three kilometres from Yacaaba Headland, at the southern end. There is a rugged track to the top of Yaccaba which offers stunning views north and south.

Patrolled: Lifeguards from the Tea Gardens-Hawks Nest SLSC patrol during summer weekends/holidays, with council lifeguards during peak school holidays.
Surf & Swimming: Good waves for surfers, calmer spots for swimmers, and consistent conditions.
Dolphins Playground: A well-known southern section known as "The Dolphin's Playground".
Yacaaba Headland: A rugged track leads to the top for panoramic views.
Amenities: Toilets, showers, change rooms, and parking are available.
Beach Driving: Permits are required for driving on the sand, accessible via specific tracks like Lemon Tree Access or Sanderling Ave.
