I also cover a wide range of Sporting and Extreme Sporting Events from Off-road Racing to Formula 1 Grand Prix, and World Championship Sailing. Working closely with event organizers, competitors and Media to get the best quality and coverage of events. I pride myself on having an eye for detail and extremely high quality images. My aim is not only to capture the event but also the expressions of the competitors, Staff and organizers. Queensland is accelerating plans to develop the Taroom Trough, a vast onshore oil reserve west of Brisbane, as fuel shortages intensify.

The site spans an area comparable to Singapore and is being positioned as a strategic response to Australia’s growing dependence on imported oil.

Authorities have cleared multiple companies to begin exploration, with a full assessment expected by the end of 2026 to determine commercial viability.

If approved, extraction could begin as early as 2028, offering a longer-term supply solution rather than immediate relief.

The move comes as more than 100 service stations across Queensland recently ran dry, exposing the fragility of supply chains.

Global disruptions, particularly tensions affecting oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz, have tightened availability and driven up prices across international markets.

The government’s strategy prioritizes fuel access for key sectors including agriculture, freight transport and emergency services.

While the reserve’s full capacity is still being assessed, early indications suggest it could become one of Australia’s most significant onshore oil developments in decades.

For a country importing more than 90 percent of its oil, the project represents a potential shift toward greater energy security.

However, timelines remain contingent on exploration results, investment decisions and environmental considerations, leaving the project’s ultimate impact still uncertain.
