Cold and Foggy / Some days never warm up. It's nearly winter and we cannot get going, get warm and feel the fog has us. Last weekend, I was out in Orange for the goodnessgravel event around Mount Canobolas and it was one of those days, but it was great. The fog, the cold, the riders it was a fantastic day for being out and on a bike or in my case shooting. Embrace the cold, the fog and make it work for you I say. Have a cold one this weekend... I hope. :)

Aerial Perspectives / "The best photo at an event isn’t always on the ground. I’ve been integrating drone work into my event coverage more and more—not as a replacement, but as a way to add context, scale, and a different perspective to the story." - Read more in my journal blog post on girovisuals.com/journal or use the link in bio.

Roads Travelled / Not every “work trip” looks the way people expect.

A few weeks ago I drove from Thredbo to Glen Innes for a shoot — about 10 hours direct. I took 14.

Detours, back roads, stopping for light, scouting new locations… the kind of things that don’t show up on a schedule, but are a big part of why I do this.

Because behind every shoot is a lot more than just taking photos:
Early starts, long days, editing late into the night, and a constant search for new places and perspectives.

If you’re someone who appreciates those quieter moments in the outdoors, I think you’ll connect with them. Jump over to my website to read the new journal post using the link in my bio.

Session - Narellan Criterium / Camden Cycle Club were racing again this morning this time in Narellan. It was a new track for me and definitely a trickier spot to shoot with more "suburban noise" potentially in the frame. But as always with some persistence and different focal lengths you can always find an angle. If you raced jumped over to my Visuals Vault and grab your photos there. www.girovisuals.com/visualsvault

Monaro Meandering / I have driven past this spot too many times to count. Something about the winding river, the poplar trees and the mountain range behind. Coming back from a week in Thredbo working I spotted a view and with my Mavic4Pro now I could get an angle I've not gotten before. Using the 70mm lens and slapping on a CPL filter this was the result. Middle of the day shooting but you got to take what you can get sometimes. Have a great weekend everyone.

I am a sucker for a good angle. I brought the 500mm to Thredbo MTB hoping for a new angle for Whip Wars. Thought no one saw me but apparently my business partner, Richard, at Outer Image Collective did. Did it work? No. Darn snow gun pipe was perfectly in the way. :(
