The last few days have been EPIC 🔥🔥🔥🔥

My amazing friend & PR coach Heidi Anderson | Keynote Speaker | PR Coach & Publicist had her S**t Show event & I was invited back to speak on stage.

I talked about how the voices in our head can prevent us from living our purpose & following our dreams & I gave examples of how I’ve let comparison (among others) impact me & my journey.

Then we had an Iconic Shoot Day at the industrial & very cool District Studio - 4 amazing humans & all so different 💃🏼

Then it was cocktails & Mexican to welcome my beautiful friend & coach & all time legend Erika Cramer 🇵🇷 Mindset coach & Speaker to Perth! I got to chat to some epic women making huge impact in this world! Heids & I were the last peeps standing! Not sure how 😜

Saturday was a full day Queens Table workshop with Erika & Nina & we got niche on content. Offftttt so many AH HA moments & of course being in a room with the most amazing women is just the best. Didn’t crawl into bed until midnight.

Today was a slow day. Yin, breakfast, gelato with my kids & cooking up a storm. I even snuck a few pics to my Iconic shoot women as a special bonus.

Huge weekend. Another uplevel. My heart is full.

About last night…..

I am beyond words. The feeling I get after I’ve done something so uncomfortable & you get a standing ovation WTAF?!

So grateful to Heidi Anderson | Keynote Speaker | PR Coach & Publicist for creating the best live experience with the S**t Show & asking me to speak (for a 3rd time!) I’m so honoured!

We always laugh, cry, nod our heads & become closer to every single person who attends the S**t Show. It’s a whole vibe.

Part 1:
I stopped being a photography coach because I cared too much.

Yep.

You read that right.

I didn’t stop because I hated coaching.
I didn’t stop because I didn’t love my students.
And I definitely didn’t stop because I didn’t believe in what I was teaching.

I stopped because I couldn’t seem to find the line between being their coach and becoming responsible for their success.

And I cared WAY too much.

I’d be looking at one of my mentee’s businesses and suddenly I’d see something.

A tiny tweak they could make to their website.

Something they could change in their offer.

A better way they could position themselves.

Something they could do on Instagram.

A gap in their customer journey.

An opportunity they weren’t seeing.

And I couldn’t unsee it.

So I’d tell them.

I’d send a DM.

I’d jump into a 1:1.

I’d have another thought later that night and message them again.

I’d look at their business when I wasn’t even supposed to be working.

Because I genuinely wanted them to succeed.

I wanted them to make money, stop second-guessing themselves & to see what I could see in them.

And somewhere along the way, I stopped behaving like a coach in a $1,000-a-year program…

…and started behaving like they’d hired me for $50K a year.

There were lots of 1:1s, late-night DMs & extra advice.

Lots of me thinking about other people’s businesses when I should have been thinking about my own.

And eventually, I burnt out.

Butter yellow is the low-rise jeans with the Calvin Klein waistband showing of 2026.

It’s having a moment & it’s fun, it’s playful & all over my feed.

But… would you build your entire brand around it?

imagine if all the brands you know & love changed their colours every time a new trend came along.

Tiffany & Co swapped their blue for butter yellow, Barbie no longer did hot pink, Spotify wasn’t green anymore & the trust blue of Meta was now…. Mmmmmmm lemon 🍋

It would feel… wrong.

Not because the colours are bad.

But because those brands have spent decades building recognition around a consistent visual identity.

And it’s not even a conscious thing, it’s brand recognition Built over years of consistency & with it comes TRUST.

Do you know how many DM’s I get from my audience who saw an Adidas fit & thought of me. It’s so cool that people are thinking about me & my brand while they’re online or in person shopping (pls send me pics too cos I’m a visual learner!)

So I’m not dissing you if you love butter yellow text & it brings you joy and it makes you happy. Use it. Be proud.

But if you’re using it because everyone else is, just ask yourself:

Will this still feel like my brand in five years?

Trends create attention.

Consistency builds recognition.

And recognition builds trust.

Iconic Shoot Day at S7udio 🔥

When we all get to sit in our genius and have the best day!

I was never suited to a corporate gig even though I worked for the Govt during over 15 years! The stability that job offered me was incredible & I was able to build the life I have now because of it.

Mark Twain said,

Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.

I disagree.

You’ll work so god damn hard because you do love it. You care so much that one negative comment puts you in complete spin. That you’ll overthink the words you wrote on captions & ruminate over posing, lighting, editing, your process.

You’ll spend late nights obsessing over how you can perfect the next shoot, why you didn’t hear back from a client straight away with gusto, how to make people feel safe even when they feel awkward.

But yes, you also get to experience what it’s like to be so connected to your purpose that time disappears. You vibe so much your clients you feel like you’ve known them for years. You surround yourself with the best team that you’ll want to work with them every day.

Yes, I work a lot. But I’m so grateful that I found my calling.

It’s awkward. It feels uncomfortable. It’s def not my favourite thing.
