Honestly the last two weekends I have had the best time in Brewarrina sharing my weaving skills and ideas, sharing culture and just getting creative as a community!

We had deadly dance belts made for the local Koorie kids dance group, baskets, bangles, necklaces, earrings and sweat bands for an acubra hat all made by our talented participants. We had participants bring their own collection of crafts and jewellery nick nacks to make their own unique crafts.

We all had a blast and I am glad to have met so many great people!

FROM OUR SISTERS IN AUSTRALIA:
This project was a collaboration between three Koori women; Lorna Munro, Tjanara Talbot and Merindah Donnelly. The photography represents the multifaceted, complex layers of contemporary traditional 100% Aboriginal female identity of the East Coast of Australia. Through a self determining process the shoot involved interventions in outdoor, indoor, shopping centres and public walkways. The subjects were carrying extremely dangerous real weapons of mass destruction.
