Paws in the Moment got featured in the Canberra Times!

After discharging from the military after ten years of service, I figured it'd be good to do something for the veteran and defence families community in my local area.

I opted to combine my passion for photography and animals to support charities like Legacy and the RSPCA.

The aim of Paws in the Moment is threefold.
-To provide affordable professional photos for families,
-Directing proceeds to existing charity support mechanisms,
-To continue the discussion of support for veterans and their families.

If you or someone you know in the Canberra area has a pet that would love a pet portrait in exchange for a donation, contact me via Instagram or Facebook in the below links (as well as Like and Follow). Or if you just want to make a donation, the page has direct payment links to the RSPCA and Legacy Australia (including downloadable/printable tax receipts).

Many families go without their fathers or mothers due to extended periods of time due to military exercises and operations.

Zia, the German Shepherd, looked after her family when the father was deployed over Christmas, and the mother was left alone with her toddler. I feel that this says a lot about the importance of pets particularly for Defence families as a mental health mechanism.

The aim of the work at Paws in the Moment is to raise money for charity, particularly for animal welfare and veteran support initiatives. However, as a strong advocate for mental health, I hope to do more than just this.

By using animals and photography as a communal point to cultivate relationships, my hope is to meet people and provide them with treasured memories of their pets, (and sometimes their family and their pets), improve self-esteem, and create community.
So if you're interested, and you're in the Canberra area, send me a message, and let's start a conversation.

Scout, the cat in the logo that started it all.

My name is Will and I am the creator of Paws in the Moment.

Paws in the Moment is my attempt to give back to the community by doing what I love, photography, meeting people, hearing their stories and most of all working with animals.
