A recent trip to the Grampians didn’t quite go to plan! 😅

After checking the weather apps the night before, it looked like we were in for the perfect amount of fog drifting off the mountains. The alarm was set, the excitement was high, and we hit the road before sunrise.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas! Instead of a touch of mist, we were greeted with a wall of thick fog and a view consisting of… well, absolutely nothing. 🌫️😂

Rather than call it a bust, we embraced the conditions and turned our attention to the surrounding bushland. The fog added a beautiful mood to the scene, transforming ordinary trees into mysterious silhouettes and proving that sometimes the best photos are the ones you never planned for.

Just another reminder that landscape photography is all about adapting and making the most of whatever nature throws your way! 📸🌿

Funny how the places you grow up in can feel so ordinary… until one day you truly stop and look 👀🍂

Growing up in Hamilton, in southwest Victoria, I never really noticed just how beautiful my hometown was. It was just “home.” But after discovering photography in my late 20’s, everything changed.

Now, almost 20 years later, I find myself chasing the autumn colours through the same streets I’ve driven my whole life — seeing golden trees, soft light, and little moments of beauty I somehow missed for years.

It’s funny how a camera can completely change the way you see the world… especially the place you grew up 🍁📸

This was absolute chaos on the Great Ocean Road 🌊⚡️

Brutal winds… towering waves… and the ocean unleashing pure fury against the cliffs. The kind of day where you can feel the power of nature in your chest.

Standing there, camera in hand, watching the coastline take a beating — it was unreal.

I captured it all… and trust me, photos don’t do this justice.

You won’t believe how this sunrise turned out… 🌅🔥

I headed down to the Great Ocean Road chasing first light — and what happened next was absolutely unreal. The sky lit up in ways I’ve never seen before, and I managed to capture every second of it.

I headed back to my all-time favourite spot along the Great Ocean Road… but this trip came with a bit more adrenaline than expected 😅🐍

Let’s just say I had a very close encounter with a snake on the way in… definitely got the heart racing!

While on a trip to Phillip Island with my dad last week, we made a spontaneous stop at the Phillip Island Pro Surfing Competition to check out the action.

Not exactly my usual style of photography, but when you’ve got world-class surfers, rolling waves, and that classic island energy… it’s hard not to pull the camera out! 🌊📸

I managed to snap a couple of shots while soaking up the atmosphere. Always fun stepping outside the usual landscape scenes and trying something a little different.

Sometimes the best photos come from unplanned stops along the journey

After almost 5 months, Gibson Steps is finally OPEN again 🙌

There’s just something about walking along that beach, craning your neck up at those towering cliffs, and feeling completely tiny in the best possible way. Standing there today made me realise just how much I’d missed one of my favourite spots along the Great Ocean Road.

Salt in the air, sand under my feet, and those epic limestone giants putting on a show like they always do… some places just hit different

So good to be back at Gibson Steps — who else has been counting down the days?
