I've been looking forward to editing this sequence of photos for quite a white! This was a quite large wave crashing over the Patricia Mary a touch over a year ago. The experience of being down there with huge waves rolling in was fantastic. This one in particular was a fair bit larger than any others! Simply breathtaking 😁

*I'll add a GIF in the comments in case that's easier to see the sequence πŸ™‚

I was super excited to capture this one! Just as I was parking my car I noticed just how amazing this sunset was, quickly grabbed my camera and jumped out of my car and straight on top of a post to quickly capture it!
Absolutely remarkable πŸ˜„It instantly had me smiling!

This is Middle Island at sunset, during a low tide which revealed the amazing looking rockpools in front of the island!
I bet the Maremma dogs don't realise how lucky they are to guard this stunning island!

I was lucky enough to have been offered a small space at the Warrnambool Show to put up a couple of my images! I must say the authentic rustic wall makes them look fantastic!
I hope some of you manage to see them in person today and if you do, I'd love to hear your thoughts! They're found in the community hub 😁 Also, I'll be shooting the show, so if you recognise me please say hello!

A couple of nights ago I took sunset shots of a recent wreck, the Patricia Mary. It was first stuck on this rough part of the shipwreck coast just over 6 months ago and unfortunately, it's in terrible shape. It really is rather jarring to see just how quickly the coastline has severely damaged this ship.

Which shot do you prefer?
Also, can you spot a crab in each shot?

Found in the very early and cold hours of a Monday morning in a remote and peculiar location, a fellow astrophotographer is found seeking out a new way of capturing the centrepiece of our winter sky - the Milkyway. In this instance, they've decided on framing it above a remote dirt road surrounded by farming land. While great commitment goes into getting a new and ever-fascinating photo of the night sky above a vast array of possible foregrounds, astrophotographers are usually rather stoked to see just how amazing their captures can turn out. This astrophotographer, like many I've spotted, was eagerly busy taking their long-awaited shot - feeling both excited and a little nervous that it mightn't turn out. I, however, was simply pleased this astrophotographer happened to stand perfectly still for long enough so I could capture this candid moment... Well, perhaps some cooperation took place πŸ˜‚

In all honesty, shooting such an amazing sky with fellow astrophotographers really does make the night even more fantastic for me. All astrophotographers I've shot with have been such great people. So here's to you all; the people who can be found in bizarre locations, enduring freezing temperatures at hours of the night most others are comfortably asleep - all while trying to showcase just how exceedingly stunning our world is after dark. You are all majestic people!

This is the second photo I really liked from shooting the 12 Apostles waterfall a few weeks ago. Again, it was a fantastic day - I was there for hours, rugged up in snow gear, and I just loved experiencing the full force of our winter storms!
I hope you all like this one a bit more than the last, I think I do πŸ˜€

A couple of weeks ago I decided to put on some snow gear and head to the beach! By this I mean I headed to the 12 Apostles during a very wet and stormy day with strong winds and quite low temperatures. I spent over 6 hours there, waiting for the best conditions to best capture this rare event - the 12 Apostles waterfall.

While the day was definitely an adventure (we do get a decent winter's storm down here!), I was quite pleased to see two photos that really stood out to me. This is the first one, with clouds that really represented what it was like to be there. I hope the photo gives you a sense of how wild it was!

I've been posting a lot of astrophotography photos lately, and I have quite a collection from the last two weeks that I'm yet to go through! Luckily, this post is only half astro! lol

From all those shots, I was excited to share these two. I was really lucky and was able to catch a beautiful sunset and get a stunning Milkyway shot only a few hours apart!
Which one do you like more??

This, of course, is the Cape Nelson lighthouse. This 1884 Lighthouse was human-operated for over 100 years, before becoming automated in the 90s. It has undoubtedly saved many sailors over its life and even played a role in both world wars. It's nice to see it's light still shining brightly night after night. I suppose it's a reassuring ritual - life goes on.
