Princes Pier Melbourne (Railway Pier)

Opened in 1915, New Railway Pier accommodated the largest of steamers and mail ships. Renamed Princes Pier in 1921, and was closed in 1989 after the containerisation boom.

December 2011 was reopening after refurbishment. The first 196 metres of the Pier fully restored, beyond that point the decking was removed and the original pylons preserved. This photo, a 45 second long exposure, are those remaining pylons.

The Iconic Flinders St Station Melbourne

Listed on the Victorian Heritage Register, Flinders Street Station was completed in 1909 and it’s estimated around 200,000 Victorians pass through its arched entrance per day

Refurbished in 2017/18 to maintain the building’s heritage design, repair the façade and roof, restore the heritage clock tower and returning the building back to its 1910 colour scheme.

An estimated 10 tonnes of bird poo was recently removed from the iconic dome atop Flinders Street Station. First time the building has had restoration in more than 100 years
