Here’s Blake Williams crushing the look-away candid shot! 

I love these look-away shots and I do them in just about every portrait session. They work exceptionally well as a genuine candid moments if you can get your subject to laugh. 

I find for a few clients it can be a little less intimidating when they aren’t looking straight at the camera. Sometimes these little things help. 

This was taken on stage at the beautiful Mandurah Performing Arts Centre to promote Blakes upcoming show.

Blake Williams is one of those rare performers who brings both immense talent and genuine presence to everything he does. You may recognise him as the host of Telethon! 

A gifted musician, vocalist and entertainer, he has a way of drawing people in effortlessly. Not just with technical skill, but with heart & charisma. 

Alright thats enough about Blake….

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Blake for various things over the years so I knew this would be easy. Just the man and a piano, on a beautiful stage at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre to promote an upcoming show. 

Here’s a few of the shots that made it through! 

I tried to keep it simple and I utilised some of the stage lights to save me time setting up kickers. These weren’t my favourite photos from a lighting standpoint, but they are the ones he needed for the job! I am also aware how picky I am too. 

My favourite is the final shot looking out over an empty theatre. Just because it’s something a bit different for me.
