Thank you to all entrants for trusting us with your images this year. Without your artistic talents this competition cannot run. We were delighted to receive 241 high quality images.
This year our judge was Cas from Inc.mill Photography. Cas is an award-winning professional photographer who lives on a cattle property in the Scenic Rim. She was the perfect choice to judge this year’s entries. We sincerely thank her for her time and effort in judging. Cas’s commitment to photography is such that she has provided individual feedback to entrants who have submitted 3 or more entries. Along with this year’s Top 30, there was an additional display at the Wandoan Show of the winners from the past 9 years. This was to celebrate 10 years of Wandoan Photo Challenge. There really is some incredible photography talent in our region, and collectively the images paint a wonderful picture of life in Wandoan and our surrounding districts. Senex have been our sponsor for 8 of those years, providing incredibly generous prize money, and we look forward to their financial support again next year.
We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Hope Powne for her efforts with the competition. When Helen Golden and Ingolf Eide handed the torch over 4 years ago, Hope provided fresh eyes and ideas, something that is imperative if a competition is to have longevity. For 3 years she provided eye catching social media posts and has been a wonderful sounding board for challenges and change. We hope she has enjoyed being on the other side of the contest this year.
WPC is run by volunteers and we appreciate the time and effort that is required to pull off a successful competition. Thanks to Heidi Davis for her social media prowess in her first year!
