My specialty has always been animal and family portraiture, but sometimes I like to try something different - in this case, a shoot for the purpose of promotional images for a business (an absolutely amazing one, I want to add)

As many of you are aware, last year I had to 'pause' taking on anymore booking due to my health. I suffer from joint pain as a result of having hypermobile ehlers danlos, and taking photos often involves a lot of kneeling, crawling, twisting - all movements that put a lot of strain on my lousy joints. I've always pushed through, but it got to the point I couldn't anymore, which was SO hard for me, as photography is such an important part of my life - nothing makes me happier than capturing and creating beautiful memories for my clients.

Those that know me well have probably heard me at some point joke that chiropractors are a scam, but because of how much pain I was in, I ended up desperate enough to book an appointment with one - and I ended up eating my words. I saw Dr Justin Mitrevski from The Innate Connection (and still am) and the difference he has made in my life has been night and day. My joint pain is managed, and I can do things now that in the past would have left me stuck in bed for the rest of the day. (I've never been so excited to be able to do something as simple as feeding my horse and then go home with no pain!)

For people that deal with chronic pain, relief like this means more than words can really describe. Some of you will get it. It means more than a 'thank you' can portray - so I brought my camera along to one of my sessions and snapped some photos a little different to what I usually capture.

Anyway - here's something a little different I thought I'd share. Although its not work I usually do, I quite enjoyed it and I'm rather pleased with how the photos turned out! (considering I'm used to working with natural lighting πŸ˜…)

Of course, with my pain now being managed, this also means I am now taking on bookings again! With the weather starting to cool down, now is the perfect time to lock in a session for photos of pets and family.

Bookings can be made through my website: https://taylaannephotography6.mypixieset.com/

(Please note: I will be adjusting my pricing and packages to be more affordable, as I understand times are tougher due to cost of living. These changes have not yet been made on my website, but will be as soon as possible.)

2025 has been a bit of a difficult year for me due to some health issues - but it has been a year that has still had many good moments spent with many wonderful people. I am so grateful for the amazing clients I have had the pleasure of working with and meeting, and for all the oppurtunities I have had to capture precious memories to be cherished.

Here are just some of the images I have captured and created in 2025.

I want to say a huge thank you to my clients this year that have been so patient with me and with having longer turnarounds due to my health flare ups - I always strive to complete client galleries within 2 weeks, but many times this year I was unable to achieve this, and so many of my clients have been incredibly understanding and supportive. It has meant so much to me.

As my health improves, I am so eager for the New Year and to return to my work with full capacity. Nothing makes me happier than getting to capture beautiful moments for people and to be creative with the images I've taken.

As we move into 2026, I'd like to wish all my clients and followers a happy and healthy New Year

To all my lovely followers and clients:

Unfortunately I am having to make the decision to close for bookings for the remainder of this year due to a chronic illness flare up.

For those of you that aren't aware, I have Ehlers Danlos, and frustratingly am in the middle of a severe pain flare up which makes both taking photos at shoots (all the kneeling, crawling, squatting) and editing my photos (long hours sitting at the computer) difficult to do with the pain I'm in.

This does happen sometimes, and does pass, so I will just need to take it easy and let my body recover a bit and then I'll be back at it :)

Thank you everyone for all your support - especially to my clients this year that have been so patient with longer turnaround times resulting from health issues.

πŸ˜… And some context:

(For those of you that might think "Oh, AI could just remove the background and make it black" - yes, it can. But it will remove every whisker, chunks off fluff, and it won't hand draw them back onto your horse, nor will it manually add shadows and lighting to make the image look natural)
