Last week I made the decision to close for the time being given the need for those who can, to stay home and help control the spread of Covid-19. This means I won't be travelling to locations or clients home's to capture beautiful images. I will still be working on client galleries which I am excited to do!
This is an extremely difficult time, one that is so unknown and heartbreaking. I would dearly love to be out capturing memories but first and foremost is the safety of my clients and my family.
I have notified all clients with sessions booked and scheduled over the next 3 months as these will have to be postponed. This may extend to 6 months depending but will cross that bridge when I come to it.
I will still be taking enquiries during this time and will be keeping busy behind the scenes.
Most importantly I will be looking after my two kidlets at home and finding my way homeschooling them as best I can.
In the meantime, I would love to share a couple of tips to help still capture and treasure memories of your family whilst we are all in our homes.
- if you have a camera, keep it handy or your phone will do just as well. Take photos of the little moments, a snuggle, your little one dancing, drawing, singing, baking together, jumping on the trampoline, covered in mud, reading in bed walking together or even of them just sitting still. Don't forget to get up close and capture features, feet, hands and eyes!
- make sure you get in photos too. Kids want to have photos of their parents as well.
- look for light. Watch where and the way it falls when you take a photo. Take a photo from different directions and angles. It can change the way a photo looks or feels.
- spend some time looking through old photos with your family. To often we take photos and don't have the time to look back on them.
- print your photos and start creating albums or hang up a photo wall. Most print companies are still open and will deliver to your door so you don't have to go out.
Look forward to healthier times ahead. Please stay safe everyone.
