TRANSGENRE VOL III: Pity Lips 🫦

Having seen Pity Lips’ development since inception has been one of the greatest joys. From friends wanting to learn instruments with intent, to deciding to create a band, to now putting on an interesting and cohesive performance of their own music.. it’s just so damn cool!!! They owned this stage at TRANSGENRE and I felt so proud to watch them do it 🥰

What better way to get back into shooting shows than by shooting one of the bands that gave you some of your first consistent work as a live music photographer? Felt nice to be an honorary member of OTW for a day again, they always feel like home. They are so much fun live that they managed to get someone doing the worm halfway through a song! 🪱

Celebrating the launch of ‘If Qu**rs Weren’t Meant to Have Kids’, by Narelda Jacobs and Karina Natt 🌈👶🏼

It’s not often I shoot events, but when your friends are launching their first book, how can you say no?! IQWMTHK is an adults picture book, described as a celebration of the beauty of rainbow families, and a rebuttal to all the questions LGBTQIA+ parents face. It’s such a unique creation and I was proud to capture its Adelaide/Kaurna launch at Human.Kind Studios in November last year. I’m just as proud of my friends and what they’ve made - both their baby Sanna and their book baby! 🥰

My first photo award win 🥹 bloody proud of this one, and of my whole Fleurieu Sun/The Times team!

Our local papers have shone at the 2026 Country Press SA Awards! Dani Brown won Best Photo, while Jesse Ehlers came runner-up in the same category. The Fleurieu Sun also came runner-up in Best Front Page, and both the Sun and The Times got special mentions in Best Headline.
