For the 4th year in a row l have covered my communities premiere event the Belgrave Lantern Festival.
It’s a night of twinkling lights, joy on children’s faces, the warm glow of 100’s of handmade lanterns and a beautiful vibe of community inclusion.

Sometimes you have to think on your feet when photographing. A shoot doesn’t go as planned. But these are the times when creative energy takes over and surprises are the result.
This portrait was taken on a full moon at a pine forest in Olinda. The light was not as l envisaged and l needed to improvise with a very small LED headlight held very close to my subject.
With my subjects 7 yr old daughter crying in the background l needed to make this image quickly.
The resultant portrait l feel is amazing . Thank you creativity, spontaneity, and the little itsy bitsy light l held in my left hand for producing this rendition of my friend Kristy

Have never been to the Palladium Ballroom. It is where the Brownlow Medal is held each year. Stunning room for the annual awards night for Fire Australia .
Love love ❤️ capturing these types of events as they generate buzz, good times and loads of energy.

RJ arboretum Olinda with my iPhone camera.
We went foraging for these little beauties, pulled Leechs of ourselves, watched a lyrebird scratch in the fallen 🍁, and planned a full moon shoot in the forest this Friday night. Taking my 35mm film cameras and digital, and a little light source in case the moon fails us. We will need a little moon beam to light our way so we don’t fall in the wombat holes.
