I haven’t been giving my Instagram page or my website the love they deserve lately but I’m still here capturing families, delivering galleries and balancing life as best as I can.

At the end of last term I was offered an opportunity to teach full-time again that I just couldn’t refuse. And as busy as this term has been I have zero regrets about following my gut on this one. I didn’t realise how much I had missed teaching. I am absolutely loving it even with the craziness of balancing my kids’ own schedules and giving Esther and George all of the love she and her clients deserve. It’s all worth it!

It wasn’t on my radar or my 2026 plan but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. I’m certainly not going anywhere - I’m still here capturing families and special moments - they might just arrive on your Instagram feed late at night or on weekends (or a few weeks apart) x

The majority of my clients for family sessions are young families. Families that have just welcomed a new baby. Families trying to slow down those first five years of their children’s lives that seem to fly by in an instant.

Sessions with teenagers or older kids generally end up being part of a larger extended family session or when commemorating an event such as a formal. Excuses I have heard for not just booking a standard family session with teenagers are - well they just don’t like hanging out with us, they hate having their photo taken, they think having their photo taken by a stranger is weird.

Let me just say this - I have never photographed a teen who didn’t value the time spent with their family during our session. I have never had a mum or dad regret making the effort to capture photos of their older kids because those years are just as important as capturing them when they are little. I have never had a teenager refuse a cuddle with mum and dad in the same way they used to when they were little. As much as they appear to fight it, they are trying to hold onto their time with you too.

If you’re looking for a family photographer on the Gold Coast, I specialise in relaxed, natural sessions that capture genuine connection. I photograph sessions for mums-to-be, newborns and families, focusing on real moments and true-to-colour memories. If you’re searching for a session that is enjoyable for everyone, I’d love to capture your family.

It’s Mother’s Day this weekend. Just know classrooms everywhere are full of kids writing love notes to their mums - names spelt incorrectly because you are only known as mum, ages listed either 10 years above or 10 years below your actual age, your favourite drink listed as wine and your favourite food listed as their favourite.

But then comes the universal answer to a question asked on every questionnaire about mum - What does mum say the most? The answer: I love you.

I was chatting to a mum about our recent school photos at a birthday party on the weekend. You know the ones - the ones with sky-high individual photo package prices with horrible backdrops that always seem to capture kids (my kids in particular) looking like they have just rolled out of bed or half asleep. The ones you always pay the exorbitant prices for because well … memories.

Then she was telling me that as a family, they very rarely have professional family photos taken. This is so common. Why are we so happy to purchase less than great photos of our kids individually while not prioritising photos that include us in them? I have my annual family photos booked for early next month because for us being together in photos in a non-negotiable.

When your kids are grown, they aren’t going to be looking at their individual school photos in the same way that you are.

For you, you are recording the growth of the little people that you built from scratch - trying to slow time down a little bit, tracking the changes that you don’t notice happening right in front of your eyes.

When your kids are all grown up they are going to be looking for the evidence of the love that they feel when they are with you now.

They will want to see what your hugs look like as they only ever feel them.

They will want to see what your face looked like when they handed you a special rock they found or a small bunch of flowers they picked just for you.

They will want to see how you held their hands as you helped them learn to walk.

They don’t care what your hair looks like, or if you don’t like your arms from certain angles. They won’t be looking for that. They will be looking for the evidence of the love that they feel now.

Stop avoiding the camera. One day your kids will be grateful you did it for them.

It’s funny, I hear the same things at almost every session like everyone’s been handed the same script beforehand. By the end, you realise none of it actually mattered and I’ve got you the whole way through.

Hi, I’m a Gold Coast family photographer helping you feel relaxed, natural and confident in front of the camera so your photos actually feel like you.

Sunset. At home in the backyard. Together.

I’ve been so lucky lately, spending time with families who are calm, connected and just genuinely lovely to be around, and whose kids are respectful, kind and so easy to photograph.

There’s always so much talk about how kids are changing and how behaviour isn’t what it used to be, and yes, I’ve seen that side too from my years of teaching, but what I’ve seen in my recent sessions tells a different story.

To my beautiful clients, whatever you’re doing, keep doing it. You’re raising kind, thoughtful, self-aware kids who have so much to offer the world. They will do amazing things xx

Some sessions are calm and quiet.

Others look a lot more like real life.

Kids running through the house. A puppy that refuses to sit still. Someone looking for a missing shoe. A baby tucked into mum’s arms while everything else carries on around them.

And somehow, in the middle of all that movement, the moments appear.

The way a toddler leans in close. A proud big sibling checking on the baby. Dad making everyone laugh.

Beautiful and a little chaotic.

A bit like my house. Probably a bit like yours too.

That’s the story of these early days.

And when you choose to document it, that story becomes yours to keep.

In-home newborn photography sessions are a beautiful way to document the early days of life with a new baby, exactly as they are. Rather than leaving the house with a newborn and young children, your session takes place in the comfort of your own home where everyone can relax (or run wild). Siblings can play, parents can cuddle their baby, and the natural moments that make up this season of life unfold naturally. As a family and newborn photographer, I focus on capturing genuine connection, quiet newborn details, and the beautiful, everyday chaos of life with little ones. These relaxed in-home sessions create timeless images that tell the real story of your growing family. I hope to capture yours soon x
