❄️ ⛄️ Brrrrrrrr... -3°C at 7am in the morning when I wake to this at Barrington Tops 🏔. ⛄️ ❄️

1 thing ticked off my bucket list... actually camping in snow!!

There was absolutely nothing at 11:30pm Friday night when I set up camp then around an hour later I hear people screaming cause it was ❄️ snowing ❄️ but I chose to stay asleep and surprise myself after a good night sleep 💤. Yes I was warm in shorts and a jumper walking about 😂😂.

I had a great day driving around (well actually sliding around in the car 🏂).

Hot tip: if you ever plan on going to the snow, much sure you have decent amount of warm clothes 🧥👖🧤, food 🍏🥪🍪 and water 💧. Also, please take 4WD’s instead of 2WD’s as I saw too many sliding uncontrollably and nearly hitting other people‼️

Just something a little different during isolation. Both photos taken on an iPhone 📱with a little bit of editing within the phone itself.

Looking forward to go back out and do the things I loved doing before... going out bush to camp ⛺️, 4WD ⛰, etc from June 1st when it’s legal to do so.

🌴 Conflict Islands, Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 is by far the best island I’ve been too. Crystal clear water, great marine life, great tourism, amazing landscape, what else could you ask for??

Not long after going for a snorkel and spotting a heap of jellyfish, I decided to get out and walk around the island alone. It was peaceful listening to the wildlife that live on this island without any human population.

Honestly, this is a place I’d go back again, it’s totally worth it!!

Sadly... this is the last post of this trip to Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬.

The third and final port of our Papua New Guinea cruise, we stopped and anchored off shore at Panasesa Island, Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬. Panasesa Island is one of the islands within Conflict islands which is made up of 21 islands. Conflict islands is owned by a London businessman but still ruled under the Papua New Guinea. Conflict Islands was named after HMS Conflict in 1880.

The locals in the small town on Kiriwina Island, Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 are amazing people to talk to. They love talking about what our lives are like in Australia 🇦🇺. The locals in the photo showed me around the local village that her great, great grand dad was once chief, in fact the first chief of the village. The house they live in is no bigger than a small bedroom which takes them just days to build. The family below house 7 people in that little house 😱. Mary (the grandmother) told me the population was only 25. If you ever get a chance to go to Kiriwina Island (only access by cruise), make sure you meet the locals as they love having a chat.

After going for a swim and snorkel, I walked around the village and little stores the locals had set at Kiriwina Island, Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬, I came across 2 local kids you had just caught a shark from where we went swimming/snorkeling 😱 . It’s unknown what type of shark it was or what they did with it afterwards.

These photos are of a little village that lies along the coast of the crystal clear beach on Kiriwina Island, Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬. We walked around the stores that the locals set up then went for a snorkel before the storm hit.

This is the only school on an island called “Kiriwina Island” in Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬. This school goes from kindergarten up to year 8. From year 9 to university, some students have to travel days on a boat to get to the mainland. Even though it was a Wednesday when we arrived, they close the school so everyone can meet us and do traditional dances.
