Time flies . . .
This photo is from 12 years ago
When I was living on the Gold Coast, just before I moved to Indo for almost 4 years
In my head it seems like it was yesterday . . .
But then I start thinking about everything that happened in those 12 years . . . And . . . A lot happened in that time
Back then I was in the water just about every day. . . Either shooting or surfing
I need to get back to doing that . . .

Ive never been a big fan of entering photography competitions for a few reasons

One of which was having to pay to enter LOL

My thinking was . . . Its not a fair playing field . . . If only those who pay are entered then what about all the potential winning photos that aren't entered ?. . . plus I just didnt want to pay LOL

But another photographer told me " Believe in yourself and your work " and just pay to enter

A few years ago I was dropping one of my cameras off to be serviced and I got talking to the technician and she told me that she had won almost $10,000 of prizes on a website that ran continuous Photography competitions called Viewbug

She knew of my work and encouraged me to give it a go . . .

So I forked out a few bucks to join and Im happy to say that Ive won close to 10k in money and prizes since then

Ive entered a few other competitions from different sites since then and have got many " honorary mentions" etc

So I guess my opinion of photo competitions has changed and in a way it actually makes me feel like my work is validated . . . when I get a mention LOL

These shots are entries from a competition called " Animal kingdom" on a website called Life Framer which I joined . . .

each month they have a competition with a prize of $2000 USD . . .

So far all Ive got is a few honorary mentions LOL

I love capturing moments like these.
of course I love the colours that come with the Indonesian tradional clothing
the photo of the elderly lady on the stool with the Black and white background was a 35mm film shot in the early 90s
