I encouraged her mum to attend the photo viewing, she wasn’t here while Ellia had her make-up done and the photoshoot in the studio.

I knew that there was something special here she needed to see of her daughter.

Ellia is just 19 years old, she presents as grounded, deep and mature, there is just something about her that is intriguing.

Her parents scored a voucher from the real estate agent.
They couldn’t see themselves doing a photoshoot but Ellia jumped at the chance as it has been something she has always wanted to do!

She opted for fairly natural make-up and I styled her hair with soft waves.

In the studio we explored different facets of Ellia’s personality.. fun, raw, vulnerable and sensual.

It flowed from one look to the next effortlessly, being sentimental she brought along her dad’s glasses and acquired her mum’s blue and gold scarf.

We played with the objects in different ways and when we put it over her head, her energy become ethereal and the word Madonna came to mind..

Can you see it too?

It wasn’t just a case of her being a pretty girl, but rather a young woman soul behind the eyes with a soft and quiet strength about her.

For another look she wore trackies with socks, a bra and hoodie and the final look was simple - black underwear, we wet her hair to add another dimension.

Mum sat down with her and we started the slideshow, 70 images on the screen flashed by, I sat fairly quiet to watch her reaction, she was taken aback and said wow this is art! ✨️

Ellia studies psychology full-time and works at Kmart on the side, she knew the prices of the packages and saved up some money before the viewing.

She ordered 6 large matted prints and mum got her favourite one! Printed on archival paper designed to keep well beyond Ellia’s later years. 🫶

Everyone has their days right feeling a bit blah or stress in their life, I am no different.

For me when I know I have a photoshoot coming up there's certain steps I take to set my state so I am at my best for my clients no matter what is going on in my personal life.

The biggest feedback I get is that people feel relaxed, comfortable and confident when they are here.

Keep in mind that they don't turn up that way; we just met and they are reluctant about doing the photoshoot.

Strange place + strange blonde 😆

Here are the steps that I take to create the relaxed environment for your shoot

✔️I get a good night's sleep the night before and eat well, this is important.

✔️I am well organised, I've made a pose and lighting plan and I know all of your family members names!
I read over your questionnaire answers and remember our pre session conversations.

✔️ I get ready early and am playing the music that you like when you arrive. Heaters on, studio tidy.

✔️ Then I choose my attitude and I'm good to go!

Welcome my friend 🙌

I decided to respond to the one person who messaged me about the video I shared editing this client’s image.

Everyone has a right to their opinion based on the lens in which they choose to look through.

“I can’t believe that you had the balls to put that up for everyone to see!!! Have you had any negative feedback regarding that editing of images in these kinds of shoots is a bad thing” Words from a fellow bo***ir photographer.

I knew where they were coming from but also realised how much context was missing for them to build an understanding.

With SM any posts; they can be perceived a thousand different ways, it would be impossible for every person to see it the way it is intended.

This particular client was creating videos on her phone and taking selfies while I was doing her hair and make-up, the filters used were heavily altering.
This told me that this is what she likes and is accustomed to.

It is not my job to form opinions.
My values include taking people as they are, accepting them. I naturally see the best in people and that is why I am good at what I do.

People trust me.

Straight off the camera she loved the images and we had a chat about the editing, I sent her a few images early and she loved them!

As you can see from the images the editing was not focused on making her skinnier but rather deliver on a more professional polished finish, I respected her wishes with what she wanted.

I find people interesting and have learnt to embrace our differences, who makes you.. you and me.. me.

Thank you for supporting me in supporting others.

I have my own values, style and preferences and anyone close to me knows what I stand for.

At the end of the day I offer a service and my job is to work with the client with what their requirements are, whether that be bo***ir, corporate or with family sessions. Of course within reason.

People always share with me their personal stories, I only share these with permission as I do not wish to exploit people on SM, so sometimes posts can lack context for this reason.

In a world where people are completely replaced by cartoons what's your thoughts?

This is Alec, he is very excited to be starting a new job as a mortgage broker and needed professional headshots.

At Pristine images I don’t whack on a filter and just hand it over

Behind the scenes there is much care is taken with the editing even on a headshot image like this one.

Editing steps include sharpening, colour correction, heal and clone, dodge and burn, adjust exposure and so on.

This video actually took me 10 minutes! It took a whole ten minutes to edit just one photo.
So as much as it is important to be time efficient I will never cut any corners or ever leave it all to ai.

I even edited off the fur from his jacket from his beloved pet dog Winston!

He had some temporary marks and shaving cuts and a slight red nose from a cold, all these things we looked at with the editing.

I also do things like desaturate red ears because the light always shines through the ears, how’s that for attention to detail.

If you are looking for professional imagery from an experienced photographer and retoucher that cares look no further than your Gippsland local Photographer Pristine Images 📸

Did you know some photographer’s offer ‘digital only’ because the profit margin is higher?

However at Pristine Images we want to get value for money and walk away with more than just a memory stick and nothing physical.

CDs became obsolete over time, that’s what we sold when I first started in the industry!

and soon USBs will too or be lost in a draw somewhere.

That’s why our packages are a mix of products and digital images you get the best of both worlds, share them with your family online as well as having a special product.

CLIENTS GET SO EXCITED TO PICK UP THEIR ORDER
