Nasty short lived storm rolled through Townsville this afternoon. I could see that we'd get the very edge of it in Deeragun and Jensen, so took the opportunity to get the drone up and get some timelapse footage.

Some of the best footage is AFTER the storm, as it moved on north of Townsville. Watch a rainbow form, and, those intense colours of the sunset afterward.

So forget about , have you seen THAT Wanaka Tree? It’s literally 100-200m from the famous landmark in the botanical gardens. It’s much more spectacular, and from what I see, not that many tourists! @ Wanaka, New Zealand

Back in the days before I owned a good camera, I was still into photography and managed to get some amazing shots! These are from 2013 when I took myself up Cape York and was stranded at Loyalty Beach for a few days! Some amazing photos in here!

Like the view? This was taken after a short but difficult, bush-bashing hike up a slope at Cape Cleveland. The view is looking north towards Townsville with Cleveland Bay featured in the centre of the image. It was surely a workout, and I had to race the sun to get back to the base of the hill before it became dark!

Cape Cleveland is one section of the Bowling Green Bay National Park. The Cape Cleveland section protects a rocky cape which is a geological extension of Mount Elliot to the south. Cape Cleveland contains a number of dry sclerophyll species which link the wetter areas of Mount Elliot at a higher elevation to the coastal wetlands of Bowling Green Bay, which are listed under the RAMSAR Convention for Internationally Important Wetlands.

Rocky inclines like the one pictured ensure that you can scramble up to some amazing peaks with 360 degree panoramic views towards Townsville in the North, Bowling Green bay to the East and Mount Elliot and inter-tidal salt flats to the South.
