The ochre carries the spirit of the land where Aliesha and Wahtjah first met, Palm Island. Through the body painting, their story unfolds, with each symbol honouring their love, their journey, and the family they are creating together.
Wahtjah is a proud Kaanju, Waanyi, and Bwgcolman man, and Aliesha is a proud Wiradjuri and Bundjalung woman. Together, they are passing down a deep cultural connection to their baby, grounding them in identity, heritage, love, and belonging. 🤍
I feel so honoured to have been trusted to capture such a beautiful and meaningful part of their journey, and to learn more about their culture through this experience.
If you’re wanting maternity, family, or storytelling sessions that capture connection and meaning in a genuine way, I’d absolutely love to chat ✨
