Love 'em? Hate 'em? The bush-stone curlew is a well-known resident in the Ville.

Their call may be slightly unnerving and annoyingly loud, but it could be an indicator of rain approaching. The frequency of their calls increases when the weather is changing. ☔️

Another reason to shell-ebrate 😉

During nesting season, a handful of turtles crawl ashore to lay their eggs on beaches around Townsville.

This mama was spotted on the Strand. She is a flatback turtle, which only nest on Australian beaches. A spe-SHELL encounter 🥰

Open for adventure!

Alligator Creek Falls, just 20-30 mins south of Townsville, was closed for a year or two, but it is open again ready for us to cool off in the swimming holes or sweat it out on the 8.5km track to the falls.
