Some seasons of life feel slow while you’re in them… but somehow when you look back, they happened in the blink of an eye 🥹

One minute you’re holding a tiny newborn in your arms, learning who they are… and the next they’re running along the beach beside you, resting their head on the baby that’s about to change everything again.

Pregnancy isn’t just about the baby that’s coming. It’s about the family that already exists growing into something new.

A little girl becoming a big sister.
Two parents watching their world expand again.
The quiet moments where everyone is still learning what this new chapter will look like.

These are the memories that slip by so easily if we don’t stop and capture them.

I never had maternity photos done, but I get photos taken of my babies every year without fail since they were born. Not because I didn’t want them, but because at the time I thought it was something I didn’t need. But now looking back, I wish I did because it was really the very beginning of their story 🤎

This is why maternity sessions will always be so special to me.

Because one day these babies will grow up…
and these photos will be the reminder of where their story began 🤍

It feels like we’ve had rain more afternoons than not lately, but we’ve still been able to sneak in a few precious shoots here and then despite the weather 😅

An afternoon with Alyx & her little fam did not disappoint 🥹🤎 Maternity sessions with toddlers have to be up there with one of my favourite type of shoots. There always so much fun and chaos & the little fingers reaching for the belly gets me every time.

I was thinking about this the other day, the baby cars 😫🚗

For a whole season of life they were everywhere.

In my pockets.
In my handbag.
Under the couch.
Occasionally in the washing machine.

They were such a normal part of our days that I never imagined they’d disappear.

But that’s the thing about motherhood.

The stages that feel endless while you’re in them…
are often the ones that pass the fastest.

One day the baby cars stay home.
And your little person suddenly feels a little less little.

And that’s exactly why photos matter.

Not because life is perfect.
But because these little seasons quietly slip away before we realise they’re ending.

And the photos become the way we hold onto them 🤍

There’s a special kind of magic in capturing a mother with her first little love, while preparing to welcome another into the world 🤎

The tiny hands reaching for the belly, the way her eyes light up when she sees a colourful wildflower or a ladybird. The stolen kisses between giggles and the beautiful chaos that only comes with a toddler.

Soon her world will shift again. Another little set of hands. Another heartbeat to love. But for now, it’s this season. Wind in their hair, a field to explore & just the three of them soaking up the last little moments before they become four.

This is what a family of 6 looks like 🙊

One very lucky little lady to have so many beautiful big brothers and a sister ready to get up to mischief with her.

The noise didn’t stop for newborn photos. The chaos didn’t pause. And I wouldn’t have wanted it to. It’s a season you’ll miss one day & it deserves to be remembered, exactly how it is 🤎
