Fresh cold air, makes the view even sweeter. I would love to show you what ‘good’ photography should do first. It has to be about the heart. I want you to see what I see before I compose a picture. I don’t care if my work isn’t popular. I want to reach you, show you how near & far vision, hearing, smell, touch and the feeling of altitude and dampness can change the way you feel for the better, if you notice it. It brings perspective and a sense of renewal.

It’s part of our makeup, that need for passive connection with the non demanding world around us. 🌼🍃

By far not a perfect picture but indeed one full of thought, meaning and depth.

When I look through the lens I’m looking for that which draws me, which is often softness and stillness - perhaps not literally but in my mind.

My heart 💓
The Square-tailed kite. This beauty & I were completely transfixed for a few minutes of pure connection.

A contemplative mindset might help us see that fruitful things can grow from less pleasant situations.

Even if it is horse poo and a coprophillus fungi. I mean really who doesn’t love to ponder good old dung-loving mushrooms and the meaning of life ? The scientist in me is leaping for joy right now 🙌

But then, who says dung is bad? It’s all a matter of perspective just like life. The metaphors abound. I find this process really helpful, even essential at times. It’s just about seeing without judgment, and if you can, wondering. It can be a great antidote for anxious thoughts. Plus looking at this in a public place and photographing it was really very funny 😁

A simple thing to do. Watching water. Enjoying its delicate beauty and the play of light within its molecules. A life sustaining force of body and mind.

I am wind on ocean.
I am roar of sea.
I am swelling wave.

Easkey Britton perfectly explains the connection between humans and the ocean.

My practice centres on that connection to nature in all of its forms, if you will, a cultural bridge to nature. It’s no longer radical. It’s non denominational. It’s accessible. We need it more than ever, our hearts and souls need it to thrive, and nature needs us. 🌱
