Pacific or Eastern Koels (Storm bird) are amazing birds. They migrate here after winter from PNG and eastern Indonesia. They are often disliked for their noisy calls, which usually goes on all night.
We have two males in our back yard, they are enjoying the bright red Brazilian Cherries. My Lens caught this male giving me the stare down and later enjoying a sweet cherry. Love those red eyes.

I went out yesterday to shoot some action with the Chinook and Apache helicopters. However no action possibly due to an impending storm front.
I still caught 6 Chooks in a line and a QANTAS E190 taking off over the Apaches.

Amazing moon tonight. I did a bit of layering here. Took the shot with higher exposure to get more cloud effect then zoomed in on the moon with less exposure, and merged the two.

We recently went back to Tassy for a week to catch up on some more of the amazing scenery and wildlife. We based ourselves in Hobart and visited, amongst other places, Bruny Is Lighthouse and Maria Island.

This evening we were privileged to witness the ISS travel across the Rockhampton sky. It took a path from the South West to North East at a speed of 24,700kph with 6 POB. The ISS took about 3 minutes to complete its journey across our little section of sky.
I was lucky to catch a 30 second exposure of the flight as it descended below the North Eastern horizon.
