A little life update from behind the lens 📸🤍

This weekend was… chaotic 😂 My own tiny human celebrated her birthday with 18 kids, because apparently I enjoy testing the absolute limits of my sanity.

As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one weekend, she also had her dance competition and came SECOND! 🥈💃 Watching her get up there, do her thing and absolutely shine was one very proud-mum moment. Safe to say, she had a pretty incredible weekend.

Meanwhile, I’ve been attempting to recover from the birthday-party madness and catch up on approximately 47 years of lost sleep. 😂 I did manage to squeeze in a few beautiful walks amongst it all though, soaking up some of the gorgeous scenery we’re lucky enough to have here on the Central Coast. 🌊

Sometimes slowing down, getting outside and noticing the little things is exactly the reset I need.

Now it’s back into photography mode! I have some beautiful sessions coming up over the next few weeks, and I’m genuinely so excited to meet the families who have trusted me to capture a little piece of their lives. 🥹📷

Life is busy, messy, loud and occasionally involves supervising 18 sugar-fuelled children… but those are exactly the seasons worth remembering.

There’s something pretty special about calling the Central Coast home. 🌊🤍

I’ve been lucky enough to visit some incredible places, stand in front of some breathtaking views and collect plenty of “wow, this is beautiful” moments along the way… but somehow, nothing ever quite compares to home.

The beaches. The headlands. The sunsets that decide to show off for absolutely no reason. The little hidden pockets of coastline you can drive past a hundred times and then, on the right day, they stop you in your tracks.

Having this kind of scenery practically on my doorstep is a privilege I’ll never take for granted.

And maybe that’s part of why I love photography so much. Because even after all these years, I still find myself grabbing the camera when the sky does something ridiculous, the ocean turns that perfect shade of blue, or the afternoon light hits just right. 📸✨

We’re pretty spoilt here on the Coast… although I’m sure the traffic on the M1 occasionally likes to keep us humble. 😂

No matter how many places I visit or adventures I go on, there’s always something about coming back here that feels different.

Nothing is quite like home. 💙

This weekend was brought to you by zero chill, very little sleep, and an itinerary that probably should’ve required a personal assistant. 😂✨

It was genuinely one of the busiest weekends I’ve had in a very long time. I barely had time to breathe, let alone work out what day it was, but despite the exhaustion, it was also quite possibly one of the best weekends ever. 🥹❤️

There was an incredible concert, football, family dinner, cuddles with my gorgeous grandbaby, lots of laughs, lots of kilometres, getting hopelessly lost in IKEA because apparently following arrows is beyond us, far too many late nights and a camera roll that is now fighting for its life. 😂

And amongst all of that beautiful chaos was also the very beginning of an exciting new chapter. 🤍 One I’m keeping close to my heart, but one that has me feeling incredibly happy, grateful and excited for everything still to come.

Sometimes you get so caught up in the everyday routine that you forget just how good it feels to actually live. To make memories. To say yes. To be surrounded by the people you love and have those weekends that leave you completely exhausted but somehow recharge a part of you at the same time.

My social battery is currently blinking red, my feet have submitted a formal complaint and I could probably sleep for approximately 14 years… but my heart is ridiculously full. 😂🥰

Now it’s time to come crashing back down to reality and back into Life In Focus Photography mode 📸. Messages, bookings, editing and all the everyday things that apparently didn’t magically take care of themselves while I was off having the time of my life. Very inconsiderate of them, really.

But I’m coming back feeling refreshed in all the ways that matter, with a full heart, a ridiculous number of memories and a reminder of exactly why I love capturing life in all its forms.

Because sometimes the best moments aren’t perfectly planned.

They’re busy. They’re chaotic. They’re exhausting. And they’re absolutely bloody wonderful. 🤍✨

When I put the call out looking for some beautiful humans to jump in front of my camera and help me grow the portrait side of Life In Focus Photography, I was hoping a few people might be interested…

I’ve been a little quiet around here lately… but I promise, Life In Focus Photography hasn’t disappeared. 📸🤍

Life just decided to turn the chaos dial up to approximately “are you actually kidding me?” for a while. 😂 Between work, family, study, appointments, unexpected plot twists and the general circus that comes with being a human, social media slipped a little further down the priority list than I intended.

But the camera?

The camera has still been coming along for the ride. 📷✨

Because even when life feels messy, there are still beautiful moments happening everywhere.

There are sunsets quietly setting the sky on fire. Storm clouds rolling in with more drama than a reality TV reunion. Tiny details that would normally go unnoticed. Families laughing. Kids being completely, wonderfully themselves. Ordinary moments that somehow become extraordinary when you freeze them for just a second.

And recently, our family welcomed its newest member—my beautiful grandson. 🤍 It has been such a special and heartwarming time, filled with tiny cuddles, sleepy smiles, precious little details and the kind of love that seems to grow with every moment. Naturally, I’ve been soaking it all in—and capturing as much of it as I can. 📸✨

And I think that’s one of the things I love most about photography.

Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful.

You don’t need the perfect weather, the perfect outfit, the perfectly behaved children or a perfectly organised life. Trust me, if perfectly organised lives were a prerequisite, I’d have had to hand my camera in months ago. 😂

Sometimes the most beautiful photographs come from the in-between moments. The windswept hair. The belly laughs. The stormy skies. The sandy feet. The cuddles nobody planned. The light that suddenly breaks through the clouds at exactly the right moment.

Photography has always been my way of noticing those things.

Of slowing life down when everything else seems determined to speed it up.

Of finding something beautiful in the middle of the ordinary.

Of saying, this mattered… remember this.

So consider this my slightly overdue end-of-winter photo dump ❄️📸

A collection of little moments I’ve captured while apparently forgetting that running a photography page does, in fact, require occasionally posting photographs to said photography page. Minor administrative oversight. 😏

Winter has given us moody skies, wild weather, soft golden light, dramatic clouds, chilly adventures and some absolutely gorgeous moments. And while I’m more than ready to welcome spring, there’s something pretty special about looking back at a season through the photographs it left behind.

Because seasons change.

Kids grow.

Families evolve.

Places look different.

Life moves ridiculously fast.

But photographs give us these tiny anchors in time. A way to return to a moment long after it has passed and remember exactly how it felt.

That’s what Life In Focus Photography has always been about for me. Not chasing perfection. Not creating something that looks like everybody else’s feed.

Just capturing real life, real connection and real beauty as it happens. 🤍

So yes, I’ve been a little absent.

Life got loud.

But somewhere amongst all that noise, I kept noticing the beautiful stuff.

Been a hot minute since I’ve had actual downtime, so the camera’s been a little quieter than usual 📸
Less posting, more doing. Less editing, more surviving life at full speed.

But then Saturday night happened.

An impromptu gelato walk with my loves at The Entrance turned into front-row tickets to a storm rolling in like it owned the place ⛈️
Cue dramatic skies. Wind with attitude. Us, wildly underprepared.

What was meant to be a calm stroll ended in an absolutely soaked walk home, shoes squelching, hair giving up entirely, dignity left somewhere near the foreshore 🍦➡️🌧️
And somehow, being drenched together made it even better.

And honestly?
It was magic.

Somewhere between the rain pelting down and me fully committing to singing and dancing like a main character in a very low-budget musical, I felt re-energised. Reset. Plugged back into myself.
There’s something about sharing those unplanned moments with the people you love that makes them land deeper.

Life gets loud. Busy. Chaotic.
We chase deadlines, routines, to-do lists that somehow breed overnight.
And sometimes we forget to pause long enough to notice the moments quietly waiting for us.

This one didn’t need a plan. Or perfect light. Or even a camera in hand.
Just presence. Wet clothes. Laughter. And a reminder that joy doesn’t always arrive neatly wrapped. Sometimes it comes sideways, during a storm, while you’re holding melting gelato and laughing with your favourite humans.

So here’s your reminder, and mine too
Slow down when you can.
Look up.
Let yourself get a little drenched.
There’s beauty everywhere if you give it the chance to find you.

Last official day of holidays. Still very much in observation mode.

Today was about slowing right down and letting Surfers Paradise do what it does best—effortlessly show off.
No rushing. No chasing moments. Just walking, looking, noticing… and quietly capturing the beauty that exists when you actually give a place time to reveal itself.

Surfers has this way of holding two energies at once.
Bold skyline.
Soft light.
Ocean constantly moving, buildings standing still, and somewhere in between—magic waiting to be seen.

I spent the day wandering with my camera, soaking in the details most people walk past. The way the light hits the towers. The calm pockets between busy stretches. The moments where the city and the sea feel like they’re in perfect agreement.

There was also some well-earned R & R by the pool, including a highly entertaining belly flop competition that proved confidence is, in fact, everything. But mostly, today was about stillness. About letting inspiration arrive instead of forcing it.

As a photographer, days like this are everything.
Doing “nothing”… yet filling the creative cup completely.
It’s a reminder that beautiful images don’t always come from big productions or perfect plans—they come from being present, patient, and open to what’s already there.

Surfers Paradise surprised me.
Not loud.
Not rushed.
Just quietly stunning in its own way.

And honestly? I’ll be carrying this energy—and these images—back home with me. 💛

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve disappeared to lately… no, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth or ghosted the world 😅

I’ve been away soaking up some very sunny QLD vibes ☀️
Trading schedules for sunshine, notifications for laughter, and the daily hustle for something a little slower… and a lot more meaningful.

This little pause has been about one thing only.
Being present. Fully, intentionally, unapologetically present.

Time with my tiny human.
Sticky fingers. Big laughs. Windblown hair. Random conversations. Core memories quietly being made without any announcement or warning 🥹

We talk so often about productivity, consistency, showing up, posting more, doing more… but sometimes the most important work happens when you step back and just be. Those are the moments we don’t get back. The ones we often take for granted until they’re already memories.

So while the feed’s been a little quieter, life’s been very loud in the best way.
Full hearts. Sun-kissed days. And views like this one from the High Flyer that remind you how small the worries feel when you zoom out 🎡✨

✨ Expanding my circle & chasing the light ✨

Some trips are planned.
Others are fuelled by curiosity, caffeine, and a very early alarm.

This one? On the road by 3:30am, heading north into sunny Queensland, with a reminder that growth sometimes looks like saying yes, even when your eyes are barely open. ☕🚗

Cue the obligatory sunrise.
The kind where you have to pull over because the sky starts whispering, “You’re about to miss something special.” And honestly… it did not disappoint. Layers of colour, quiet roads, that stillness that only exists before the world fully wakes up. Magic.

After a long day of driving, I only had enough energy left for a quick wander around the block—but even that was enough to know I’d landed somewhere seriously beautiful. A handful of snaps, no pressure, just observing.

🏙️ And a brand-new Meriton tower rising an epic 90 levels into the sky, casually reminding me that sometimes you really do have to look up to see what’s possible.

This trip wasn’t about perfection.
It was about movement.

Because inspiration doesn’t always arrive in a perfectly styled shoot—sometimes it finds you on the side of the road at sunrise, or on a tired evening walk when you almost stayed in.
