Been a hot minute since I’ve had actual downtime, so the camera’s been a little quieter than usual 📸
Less posting, more doing. Less editing, more surviving life at full speed.

But then Saturday night happened.

An impromptu gelato walk with my loves at The Entrance turned into front-row tickets to a storm rolling in like it owned the place ⛈️
Cue dramatic skies. Wind with attitude. Us, wildly underprepared.

What was meant to be a calm stroll ended in an absolutely soaked walk home, shoes squelching, hair giving up entirely, dignity left somewhere near the foreshore 🍦➡️🌧️
And somehow, being drenched together made it even better.

And honestly?
It was magic.

Somewhere between the rain pelting down and me fully committing to singing and dancing like a main character in a very low-budget musical, I felt re-energised. Reset. Plugged back into myself.
There’s something about sharing those unplanned moments with the people you love that makes them land deeper.

Life gets loud. Busy. Chaotic.
We chase deadlines, routines, to-do lists that somehow breed overnight.
And sometimes we forget to pause long enough to notice the moments quietly waiting for us.

This one didn’t need a plan. Or perfect light. Or even a camera in hand.
Just presence. Wet clothes. Laughter. And a reminder that joy doesn’t always arrive neatly wrapped. Sometimes it comes sideways, during a storm, while you’re holding melting gelato and laughing with your favourite humans.

So here’s your reminder, and mine too
Slow down when you can.
Look up.
Let yourself get a little drenched.
There’s beauty everywhere if you give it the chance to find you.

Now excuse me while I dry our shoes and pretend we meant for that to happen ☔️✨

Last official day of holidays. Still very much in observation mode.

Today was about slowing right down and letting Surfers Paradise do what it does best—effortlessly show off.
No rushing. No chasing moments. Just walking, looking, noticing… and quietly capturing the beauty that exists when you actually give a place time to reveal itself.

Surfers has this way of holding two energies at once.
Bold skyline.
Soft light.
Ocean constantly moving, buildings standing still, and somewhere in between—magic waiting to be seen.

I spent the day wandering with my camera, soaking in the details most people walk past. The way the light hits the towers. The calm pockets between busy stretches. The moments where the city and the sea feel like they’re in perfect agreement.

There was also some well-earned R & R by the pool, including a highly entertaining belly flop competition that proved confidence is, in fact, everything. But mostly, today was about stillness. About letting inspiration arrive instead of forcing it.

As a photographer, days like this are everything.
Doing “nothing”… yet filling the creative cup completely.
It’s a reminder that beautiful images don’t always come from big productions or perfect plans—they come from being present, patient, and open to what’s already there.

Surfers Paradise surprised me.
Not loud.
Not rushed.
Just quietly stunning in its own way.

And honestly? I’ll be carrying this energy—and these images—back home with me. 💛

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve disappeared to lately… no, I haven’t fallen off the face of the earth or ghosted the world 😅

I’ve been away soaking up some very sunny QLD vibes ☀️
Trading schedules for sunshine, notifications for laughter, and the daily hustle for something a little slower… and a lot more meaningful.

This little pause has been about one thing only.
Being present. Fully, intentionally, unapologetically present.

Time with my tiny human.
Sticky fingers. Big laughs. Windblown hair. Random conversations. Core memories quietly being made without any announcement or warning 🥹

We talk so often about productivity, consistency, showing up, posting more, doing more… but sometimes the most important work happens when you step back and just be. Those are the moments we don’t get back. The ones we often take for granted until they’re already memories.

So while the feed’s been a little quieter, life’s been very loud in the best way.
Full hearts. Sun-kissed days. And views like this one from the High Flyer that remind you how small the worries feel when you zoom out 🎡✨

Normal programming will resume shortly.
For now, enjoy this little slice of joy from above… and a gentle reminder to slow down when you can, hug your people tight, and make the memories that actually matter 🤍

✨ Expanding my circle & chasing the light ✨

Some trips are planned.
Others are fuelled by curiosity, caffeine, and a very early alarm.

This one? On the road by 3:30am, heading north into sunny Queensland, with a reminder that growth sometimes looks like saying yes, even when your eyes are barely open. ☕🚗

Cue the obligatory sunrise.
The kind where you have to pull over because the sky starts whispering, “You’re about to miss something special.” And honestly… it did not disappoint. Layers of colour, quiet roads, that stillness that only exists before the world fully wakes up. Magic.

After a long day of driving, I only had enough energy left for a quick wander around the block—but even that was enough to know I’d landed somewhere seriously beautiful. A handful of snaps, no pressure, just observing.

📍 Surfers Paradise beach doing what it does best—effortlessly showing off.
🏙️ And a brand-new Meriton tower rising an epic 90 levels into the sky, casually reminding me that sometimes you really do have to look up to see what’s possible.

This trip wasn’t about perfection.
It was about movement.
New places. New perspectives. Expanding the circle.

Because inspiration doesn’t always arrive in a perfectly styled shoot—sometimes it finds you on the side of the road at sunrise, or on a tired evening walk when you almost stayed in.

Here’s to chasing light, saying yes to the long roads, and trusting that the best views often come after the early starts. 🌅✨

✨ New Year’s Eve, Coast Style ✨🎆

New Year’s Eve was spent exactly where it should be — down at the waterfront at The Entrance, soaking up good music, incredible company, and an absolutely epic fireworks show lighting up the sky as we officially waved goodbye to 2025.

There’s something special about seeing a year end by the water. The reflections. The energy. The collective “we made it” feeling as the countdown hits zero and the sky explodes in colour. It felt like the perfect full stop to a year that has been messy, magical, challenging, rewarding — and everything in between.

2025 taught me a lot. About resilience. About slowing down. About finding joy in the simple things. And about trusting that even when life feels chaotic, there’s always something beautiful unfolding in the background.

And now… bring on 2026. ✨
New ventures on the horizon.
New ideas brewing.
New things happening with Life In Focus Photography — and I am SO excited for what’s coming next.

If this year taught me anything, it’s that moments matter. Memories matter. And capturing them? That’s my absolute favourite thing to do. So make sure you’re sticking around — you won’t want to miss what’s ahead.

Here’s to fresh starts, bold moves, belly laughs, unexpected adventures, and another year of chasing light, love, and magic — one moment at a time. 🥂📸

After a very quiet Christmas and a very long night shift on Boxing Day night, the idea of a calm, low-key evening fishing down at the foreshore at The Entrance was simply too good to pass up. No alarms. No rushing. Just rods, water, and letting my nervous system slowly remember how to relax 😅

Now, did I catch any fish?
Absolutely not.
But I did manage to haul in an impressive amount of seaweed — enough to convince myself I could probably start a small marine garden if I wanted to 🌿🎣

Christmas looked a little different this year. Fewer bells and whistles, less chaos, more stillness. And while it wasn’t what past years have looked like, it was just as fulfilling — if not more. Full of quiet moments, deep gratitude, and so much love that it honestly made me stop and think… I am the luckiest woman in the world. 💛

There’s something incredibly grounding about slowing right down after the madness of shift work, public holidays, and sleep schedules that make absolutely no sense. Sitting by the water as the sun dipped, feeling the breeze roll in, and laughing at my complete lack of fishing success was exactly what I needed before launching into the final stretch of this year.

Now it’s one more week of random shifts, public holidays that blur together, and then… a brand new year waiting in the wings. Fresh pages. New routines. New moments to capture and appreciate.

Here’s to finding peace in the simple things, joy in the quiet, and beauty in seasons that don’t look how we expected — but somehow feel exactly right. ✨

🌊 Homegrown Magic at The Entrance 📸💙

I took a little break from chasing sunrises last week — no 4 a.m. alarms, no sand-in-the-shoes before breakfast — and decided to keep things close to home. And honestly? It reminded me why I fell in love with this place in the first place.

There’s something about The Entrance that never loses its charm.
The way the light hits the water just right.
The pelicans doing their daily modelling sessions like they own the joint.
The buzz of families, locals, and seagulls (usually arguing over chips).
Even on the most ordinary days, this little patch of paradise somehow finds a way to look extraordinary.

I wandered along the foreshore with my camera and felt that familiar calm kick in — the kind that tells you you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. I’ve travelled, I’ve seen some incredible spots, but nothing quite compares to the feeling of home wrapped in salt air and coastal breeze.

The Entrance isn’t just where I live — it’s my muse, my reset button, and my daily reminder that beauty doesn’t always need a grand adventure… sometimes it’s right where you are. 💙

Something a little different tonight — still at my favourite place, because let’s be honest, Soldiers Beach has a magnetic pull on my soul — but this time it was an impromptu detour on the way home. One of those “hmm… should I?” moments that turned into a “yep, absolutely worth it” kind of stop.

After a day of ridiculous, melt-your-face-off heat and a sudden storm that came in like it had something to prove, the sky decided to put on an electric encore. And I mean electric.
Lightning was dancing across the clouds like Mother Nature had switched the world to ‘dramatic mode,’ and even though capturing lightning is like trying to photograph a toddler hopped up on red frogs — unpredictable, speedy, and slightly chaotic — I still managed to snag a few glimpses of its power.

There’s something wild about watching the whole sky crack open in a split-second flash.
It reminds you how small you are, how big the world is, and how much magic exists in those blink-and-you-miss-it moments.
And honestly? It was exactly what I needed tonight — a reminder that even in the darkness, brilliance still breaks through.

Here’s to unexpected detours, moody skies, and the kind of moments you can’t plan but absolutely treasure.

Finally made it back to my happy place… and honestly, it feels like a small miracle. After being taken out by whatever mystery illness decided to turn my body into its personal Airbnb, I’m still a bit fragile — physically, mentally, emotionally… basically all the -ally words. But today, I dragged myself back out into the world because sometimes you have to choose healing, even when it feels like wading through wet cement.

Soldiers Beach greeted me with a moody welcome: dark, heavy clouds hanging low like they had opinions, wind doing its absolute most, and that dramatic “is this a sunrise or a movie trailer?” kind of vibe.
But behind all that gloom was the softest hint of light — just enough to remind me that potential is always there, even when everything looks a bit… stormy.

And honestly? That tiny glow was exactly what I needed.
A gentle nudge.
A quiet reminder that even when you feel wobbly, hope doesn’t need to scream — sometimes it just needs to show up.

So here’s to slow recoveries, soft resets, and the kind of mornings that whisper, “you’re getting there… keep going.”

26/11/2025

Sunrise missions have been on pause lately — blame the plague that decided to move in, unpack its bags, and get way too comfortable. Whatever mystery virus this is, it’s been doing laps around the house like it’s training for a marathon, and I’ve spent more time wrapped in a doona burrito than anywhere near the ocean.

So when life finally forced me out on a quick Coles run (because apparently we still need food 🙄😂), I stepped outside… and BAM.
The sky delivered a full dramatic performance right at the end of my street.

An impending storm — after a brutally toasty day pushing almost 40 degrees — rolled in with the kind of moody, cinematic backdrop photographers dream about.
And there I was, standing across from a school crossing of all places, thinking:
“Well… it’s not Soldiers Beach, but damn, this is something.”

It’s funny how beauty doesn’t always wait for you to feel your best or have your perfect setup or be in a picture-worthy location.
Sometimes it taps you on the shoulder in the middle of a grocery dash and says:
“Hey… look up. This moment is for you.”

And honestly? I’ll take it.
Sometimes we have to grab the tiny sparks of magic wherever they appear — even if it’s between a stop sign and a school zone.

🌥️ A Little Gloom, A Lot of Heart at Shelly Beach 🌊📸

Change of scenery this morning — I traded my usual Soldiers Beach sunrise for a wander down at Shelly Beach, and honestly? It was exactly what I didn’t know I needed.

The sky was moody, the light was soft, and I could literally see the rain hovering on the horizon like it was deciding whether or not to ruin everyone’s day. But the humidity? Oh, she came to play early. Within minutes I felt like I was marinating in my own determination 😂✨

And yet… none of that seemed to matter.

Because despite the grey skies and the promise of incoming rain, dozens of families had already flocked to the shoreline — kids racing to the water, parents carrying beach carts like Olympic athletes, towels flapping like victory flags.
Everyone was just… happy.
Present.
Soaking up whatever moments of sunshine they could before the clouds changed their mind.

There was something genuinely beautiful about watching people embrace the day anyway — even with the gloom, even with the wind, even with the humidity trying to melt us all into puddles.

It’s a reminder that joy doesn’t wait for perfect conditions.
Sometimes you just have to show up, breathe it in, and let the moment be enough.
