Lake Maroon, with Mt Barney National Park under the Milky Way. .
After weeks of scouting the location on Google Earth and using to plan this shot I finally made the 90 min drive down to Lake Maroon, a location I had never visited before. I spent over an hour bashing through open forest, grasslands and following some dirt roads up a steep ridge line in the fading light. As I followed the upper part of the ride it became clear that the outlook and the views would be spectacular... if I could get a clear view through the trees. It wasn’t till after sunset that I finally found a solitary break in the treeline from a small rock outcrop slowing me to stand above this beautiful scene. I will definitely come back here again .
I no longer post all of my shots to Facebook, if you want to see all of my posted photos, please follow me on Instagram
