Throwbacks while I am on maternity leave and my cameras collect dust for a while - really missing the rural imagery I once thrived on, might be time to get back into it 💛

A little life update… 🤍

Becoming a mum has changed a lot for me—including the way I work.

Over the past few months I’ve really missed being behind the camera. I miss the creativity, the storytelling, the little moments that often go unnoticed, and the people and horses that make this industry so special.

At this stage, though, I simply don’t have the capacity to commit to covering full events while juggling life with a little one. Rather than disappearing completely, I’m choosing to adapt.

Moving forward, I’d love to attend selected clinics and shows in a more relaxed, creative capacity—capturing candid moments, behind-the-scenes snippets, beautiful stills and short videos that showcase the atmosphere and tell the story of your event.

For the next little while, I’ll be offering this service COMPLIMENTARY while I find my feet balancing motherhood and work, and learn what is realistically achievable with my little sidekick in tow. It gives me the opportunity to create again while providing committees with fresh, engaging content to use for their own marketing and promotion. The long-term plan is for this to become a paid service once I’ve settled into a rhythm.

It’s also important to mention that this is NOT intended to replace an official event photographer. Committees would still need to engage a photographer to capture the competition, presentations and key moments in the traditional way. My role would simply complement their work by focusing on the candid moments (that the official can be too busy to capture), behind-the-scenes and storytelling side of the event. The aim is to add value—not step on anyone’s toes.

My focus will also be shifting more towards independent media, so - private bookings, creating personalised content for riders, trainers and businesses, and working independently rather than being the official event media team.

I’m excited to ease back into this new chapter and can’t wait to start creating again. If you’re hosting a clinic, show or event and think this style of creative coverage would add value, I’d love to chat. My availability will be quite limited while I find my feet balancing motherhood and work, so if you’d like me to come along, I’d encourage you to reach out and lock in a date early.

Unfortunately due to a family emergency I now won’t be able to make it to the Southern NSW Reining Horse Association - SNSWRHA show this week BUT thankfully Brooklyn has stepped forward to cover my absence 🤎
I was so excited for my first show back after having Kennedy but it hasn’t worked out for us this time, I’m very thankful for Brooklyn and it’s why I believe in community over competition within our industry 🙌🏼📷🎥
