is it possible to avoid the crowds at the acropolis of athens in greece?
if you’re heading there this summer then know some info:
- queues start to build before it opens
- most people have bought online so prepare before going
- entries are timed, aim for 8-9 slot to be there as it opens
- once you get passed the tickets walk very quickly to the parthenon!for/the best chance of seeing it without the crowds
- every person you overtake will be one less person when you get up there
- enjoy the view and then go visit all the other sights
- revisit the partnenon afterwards for a second look if you want
- take a break where needed
- enjoy the sights and the views
- it gets busy very quickly
- there are a lot of stairs so those with mobility issues may struggle
- there is a lift for wheelchair users to the top
- as you queue to get in there will be guides offering bespoke tours
- you can’t take food and drink (except water) once you’re done go visit the acropolis museum down the road and then have a coffee at little tree books and coffee which is super cute
will you be visiting?
this visit took place in shoulder season so summer will be more intense
