A photo never lies? Not these days.
Most published photos are touched up or manipulated.
Is that cheating? Does it belie what it really looks like?
Not really, a photo can never replicate what the human eye can see. The human eye is one mean HDR and auto focus machine, what we see is never what one still shot can capture.

I find adjusting contrasts and hues are generally OK, what I don't like is over-doing it with the drama and saturation, that are not there at all in reality.

Of all the genres of photography, landscape photography might be the one in which your final image depends on the edit the most.
