My sis and brother-in-law are coming to visit in a couple weeks (!!!) and they’ve kindly offered to bring over a few things that we’ve been missing from home. This is the list I’ve made so far:

-ranch dressing
-Sour Patch Kids
-Wonderbars
-all dressed chips (Ruffles or bust)
-ketchup chips (Lays, obviously)
-munchies
-Annie’s Noodles (white cheddar shells)
-Kraft Dinner 😅

What am I forgetting?

As if my sister’s willingness to fill her suitcase with bags of chips that mostly contain air, here are some cute pics to prove that siblings are the BEST 💗

Today I got stung by a bluebottle - but don’t worry, I’m being really brave about it. Do I feel pain? Sure. But most of all, I feel LEGIT.

To Aussies, this is business as usual, but to my Canadian pals - watch out. I will be bragging about the fact that I survived a jellyfish sting for years to come, baby.

Photos of the gorgeous whose family is just the cutest 💗

Last week I shared a bit of my struggle to get going on my goals this year. I’ve been trying to take an intuitive, compassionate approach forward and, while I don’t have all the answers ✨yet✨, there is one thing that’s really helped that I want to share! Ready for it?

A ta-da list! Inspired by the one and only ❤️

Can we all agree that the BEST part about a to-do list is checking off the little boxes? A ta-da list is JUST that. Instead of listing all the things that need doing (and haunting your dreams ‘til they’re done) a ta-da list only includes things that you’ve already accomplished.

Today I tried a spin class for the first time (we won’t talk about how rough that actually was haha), got groceries, finished an audiobook, and did some marketing work! What’s something on your ta-da list?

Also, tips on surviving a spin class?

90 PERCENT. That’s how many of you said you could also use a reset! I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again: I have the best community here. I’m also convinced the best remedy for a vulnerability hangover is solidarity 💪🏼 thank you all for your kind words and advice!

I generally try to present a pretty picture on here - it’s part of the job! But I’m also okay with letting y’all in on the not-so-secret that there’s a real, silly, passionate, imperfect person behind it all. Here’s to another year of sharing life hacks, life in Aus, peachy pork chops and client work coming soon 📸 Thanks for sticking around!

I cannot believe how many people followed along our entire apartment hunting journey on my stories yesterday 😅 I feel so beloved to have people who are invested enough to suffer through the dizziness and share their opinions. I know y’all are dying to know how the poll turned out so here are the results as they currently stand:

1 (modern): 28 votes
2 (frangipani): 51 votes
3 (oldie): 18 votes
4 (third floor): 14 votes

Aaand there you have it. It’s impossible to show the full essence of a place on Instagram, but frangipani was our favourite as well! We’ve submitted an application and will try to see a few more options before we hear back. It’s got it’s quirks but I think we could make it homey, not to mention the location can’t 🏝 be 🏄‍♀️ beat 🌺

Let’s hear some hot takes! Things we might have missed or forgotten to consider? Is your pick on the top or not? Defend your faves in the comments!

One of the best parts of quarantine has been finding all 9 seasons of One Tree Hill online. It streams with ads but I think we both appreciate the opportunity to decompress between plot twists 🤯 so far we’re on season 4 and there’s been 2 fake pregnancies, 2 real ones, 3 deaths, 827 moments that make me want to punch Dan and 9,945,273 hilariously 2000’s haircuts.

Have you seen all 9 seasons? I haven’t but it still makes me feel some kinda way. What shows make you feel the most nostalgic? Mine are Gilmore Girls, Boy Meets World, and Lizzie McGuire 💅

One of the things I’ll miss most about Canada is autumn! Here’s a little list of my favourite parts (in no particular order):

-crunchy yellow leaves
-breaking in a new planner
-musky scented candles
-dressing like a lumberjack
-corn mazes & hay rides
-back to school routines
-thanksgiving 🤤

I didn’t realize last fall would be my last fall for the next few years, so I’m asking y’all to savour this one a little extra on my behalf. And while you’re at it, take lots of pictures!

Throwing it back to fall 2020 with this beautiful table setting courtesy of - credits in comments!

I love when my couples make plans that are totally authentic to them! Kenzie and Hunter managed to create a quiet, secluded moment between festivities to read their vows to each other and it was 😍💗😭👰🏼‍♀️🥺📸

If you want to wear a jumpsuit, only invite 10 people, cut a cheesecake or a big ol’ wheel of cheese, who’s stopping you? As long as you’re happy, it’s all gouda 😘

On a semi-related note, anyone know any Sydney-based couples looking for a photographer? It’s been 2.5 weeks since my last wedding and I’m already missing it!

We have arrived in Sydney and are so relieved to finally be here! A few things I’ve learned so far:

-when there’s as many flight staff as there are passengers, you can expect excellent service (looking at you ✈️). If you succumb to the scarcity mindset and accept a water bottle every time they offer it, you will quickly end up with 10 🤦‍♀️
-Australians are exceptionally kind and funny people. Don’t be fooled by the army, navy and airforce uniforms 😎
-the fact that we somehow made it here, despite all the things that could have went wrong, is all the proof I need to believe that we are meant to be here NOW. Even though it means heading into another lockdown 😅 People keep telling us that they’re surprised we actually made it. We are too🤷‍♀️

What’s the biggest thing you’ve learned from your experiences travelling? I want to hear all of your advice! I’ll be sharing some hacks on my stories soon to repay the favour 😘

One of my fav podcasts has this component called the dumb dumb club where people write in stuff they learn that they probably should have learned a long time ago. Most are funny, some are alarmingly relatable, but my favourite one to date is from someone who admitted to thinking that Nicholas Cage and Bill Gates are the same person. After the podcast, the host did a poll on her Instagram and it was revealed that this was NOT an isolated mistake. A confession: I think I might have made the same one.

Here’s why: in National Treasure Nick Cage plays Ben Gates: a treasure hunter who becomes crazy rich from coming across a little thing called the Templar Treasure and some city of gold 💁‍♀️ When all you know about BILL gates is that he’s a rich computer genius, it checks out. I’m rewatching the series right now and I have to actively remind myself that it’s not a true story. Or is it? 😯

Have you also fallen victim to the talent of Nicholas Cage? Or do you have another dum dumb moment that you need to get off your chest?

Here’s mine: I once washed my car (emphasis on “onced” and thought I’d save money by doing it manually. I gave it a good scrubbin’ and went over it all multiple times bc it was drying super streaky. After a solid 45 of scrubbing, my car still looked crap and I went to pay on my way out. Little did I know they charge by the MINUTE and ended up spending $53 😅 still haunts me a little. Hbu?

LANGUISH - you feeling it?

Remember that scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when Harry gets injured during a quidditch game, and Professor Lockhart comes over and does some weird spell that makes Harry’s arm bend like Gumby?

I’ve always thought of that scene is funny, because while everyone around him is audibly grossed out (as they should be) Harry just kinda sits there with big eyes, speechless.

Lately, I feel a little like Harry. Things feel so far outside of my control and I’m too emotionally exhausted to react to every little bend in my plans for myself. Instead, I assume the role of wide-eyed observer, taking in the good with the bad, feeling sad and angry and sorry for myself and grateful and hopeful and compassion for others all at the same time. Do you know what you get when you mix all of those feelings together, each one fighting to cancel out another?

LANGUISH.

You know what else?

Tired. You get tired.

So here’s my loving reminder to feel your feelings and to rest. If you’re not okay, my DM’s are open. I want people to feel all kinds of things when they see my photos and read my words but NEVER unseen. If you’ve lost your job, or a loved one, or a friendship, or your sanity over these past 162 years of dealing with COVID, I am so so sorry. Sending you a big ol’ virtual elbow bump and this photo of my beautiful friend Lucie and her dad Marc, because it sure as heck can’t make a day worse 😘
